Dortmund superstar Jadon Sancho has told close friends he’s prepared to reject Manchester United for former club Manchester City this summer, according to reports.

The England winger left the Etihad for Germany in 2017 after being told by Pep Guardiola that he would have to bide his time for first-team football at the club.

City received just £8m for Sancho, who was 17 at the time. But the club inserted a clause in his deal that they could match any accepted offer for the winger, meaning they essentially have first refusal on the England star.

City’s rivals, Manchester United, had been confident of signing Sancho before the pandemic hit but the club is now questioning their pursuit of the 20-year-old. Sancho is valued at £120m by Dortmund.

Dortmund value Sancho at £120m and are unwilling to drop their asking price, despite accepting that the winger is likely to leave this summer. With United cooling their interest, Sancho’s options are limited and the Sun claim he’s now got an open mind to returning to the Etihad.
