Former Secretary-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Dr. Joe Nwaorgu, last weekend, broke down in tears as he claimed that the Igbo race has been extinguished in the political equation of Nigeria.

Speaking with Daily Sun, he said as the Nzogbu-Nzogbu tactics of Ndigbo was recurring, it has been of no consequences nor has it made positive impact on the Igbo nation.

"The present political situation calls for very hard analysis. One does not tell himself lies when he is making a decision that will affect his children’s future," Nwaorgu said. He added that Ndigbo had the best minds in all fields of human endeavour, but that our political calculations were always faulty.

Nwaorgu re-echoed Obasanjo’s claim that if he wanted third term, he (Obasanjo) could have gotten it.
"Obasanjo could have gotten third term if he wanted. The proof is his single-handedly picking Yar’Adua as his successor. Months before the election, he started calling him (Yar’Adua) his successor."

The former Ohaneze Ndigbo scribe further stated that it was high time Igbo youths decided the fate of senators and members of the House of Representatives of Igbo extraction who were not true representatives of Ndigbo

"For instance, in the bid to truncate the so called third term agenda of Obasanjo, 117 proposal in the Constitution Amendment Bill, some of which could have benefited Ndigbo, were jettisoned, just for one issue on the bill," Nwaorgu lamented.
