The IBI Foundation in partnership with different NGOs in the 36 states and FCT will be feeding 37,000 people, 1,000 per state on the 26th and 28th December, 2020.

This outreach is tied to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Goal 2 which deals with Zero Hunger. No body needs to go to bed hungry at this time of the year or any other time of the year. You can also be part of this historic outreach by partnering, donating or volunteering.

There was a post going viral this week about volunteering and internship.

We just had to reinforce the fact that both internship and Volunteering are not in the same category. They shouldn't be compared.

Internship is basically for you as a person to develop your skill set and advance in your career. It is usually a formal setting with a stipulated time frame more often than not paid.

Volunteering on the other hand is basically giving back to the community by working for others while developing personal skills, now some people volunteer just because they want to help out and not even to harness skills.

Volunteering is a non-paid service most times. It can be in a formal and informal setting.

The reasons people volunteer varies compared to internships which is solely on skills development. We discussed this in our Q and A session Episode 2, you can download via link in bio or just to our IG TV and check https:///VolunteerOpportunities/1006

Don't let anyone fool you and think they are the same. They are not!!

Yes we agree that interns should be paid and Volunteers need to be appreciated and treated properly. They are not your slave to use and dump at will. Proper volunteer management system is needed so that volunteers do not feel used. This is why we do what we do.

We are here to solve and educate people on this!
