Which environment offers you a better work situation? Office or Home? For a lot of people right now, there is really no choice as remote work has become the mandatory adoption. Due to the current pandemic, telecommuting is the reality many business owners, employers, and employees have been shoved into rather dramatically. It is therefore best to be acquainted with everything that comes with working from home. These ideas would guide you as a worker on how to navigate effective remote work practices.

SECRETS TO WEALTH CREATION

Prepare to go to work
While you worked in an office, you probably woke up at 6am and got to work at 8:45pm. On weekends, you might have slept in till later hours since you did not have to go anywhere. Working from home could have you developing the weekend syndrome if extra care is not taken. This is why it is important to stick to your work sync.

After waking up, do all your morning activities as you would if you were going to the office. Make your bed, clean up your room, eat breakfast, and if it would help you feel more prepared, dress up too. Since you won’t be commuting anywhere, you might have some extra time. You can use that to prepare your work space, or maybe do some exercise. Whatever you do, do not go back to bed to “rest”. Once it is time to work, start working, Make it a point to be punctual or else you could get used to starting anytime which would make work seem like a chore. The reality of remote work is that this would be super hard to do. You need to be strong willed and determined to achieve this.

Have a designated office area
Creating a dedicated work space would mimic the feeling of being at the office. Ensure that your workspace is used for work only, else, you might get too comfortable. Your office area should have a desk, chair, your work supplies, any item that makes work easier for you, and a good source of ventilation. This little setup might be in your room, kitchen, or maybe an extra room. Also, since you would most likely be in a conference call at some point, ensure that your background is presentable. “Resume” to your workspace at the right time daily.
