Three reasons why negotiations with bandits led to more attacks: firstly, Bandits are cluster groups without a central leadership; Their motivation is money & can only be sustained by money. They are transnational gangs, operates without respect or recognition for any laws or Govt.https://mobile.twitter.com/ShehuSani/status/1275017339528982529?p=v 6 Likes 2 Shares

If anything, Buhari's presidency has revealed two things about Northerners: 1. They suffer from OSTRICH MENTALITY. Through lack of vision and detachment from the ordinary people, Northern political leaders, religious leaders, traditional rulers and members of upper social class conspired to neglect their own people for so long and engendered subsistence living and widespread poverty. Religion served as an opium for some. Many young people took solace in hard drugs. In the long term, the seeds of both religious fanaticism and economic banditry took roots. As the consequences of their actions rages, they still refuse to tackle the root causes. The traditional rulers are busy with the affairs of their palaces and the next durbar show. The elites are busy giving their children best of education and opportunities. The religious leaders are still focused on observance of tenets while not caring about the living conditions of followers. Instead of good policies and programs, political leaders are busy fighting each other, changing political parties to steal more public money for themselves. The common people remain neglected and wallow in subsistence living and poverty. 2. They suffer from inordinate SENSE OF ENTITLEMENT . On assumption of office, Pres. Buhari handed over the security of this country to Northerners. Now, how can your sons be in charge of Army, Airforce, police, DSS, NIA, etc and you still complain. Hold your sons accountable. Hold the state governors responsible for not deploying the security votes to tackle securities. Bandits are not spirits. Young men should step up and join the security men to fight their peers who now enjoy bandit tag. Where are LOQUACIOUS Arewa Consultative Council and Arewa Youth Consultative Forum when you need them. Listen, dear Northerners, you cannot drink your fura da nono and still have it in the bowl. STEP UP and TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. 93 Likes 15 Shares |

Masari & other northern governors went to negotiate with bandit because either they're part of the bandits or as known because of their cluelessness on how to tackle the insecurity issue. 12 Likes 2 Shares |
