Apple is bringing an option for users to select default browser and email app with the latest software update, iOS 14 and iPadOS 14. Users will now be able to use alternatives to Safari and the native Mail app which will open links and compose messages. This new feature is part of the detailed key features and enhancement breakdown on Apple’s website. It will be necessary for developers to optimize their apps to be able to support these new features and browsers will still be forced to rely on Apple’s WebKit engine.
