Oyo government (Ajimobi led government) boycotts Kolapo Ishola burial service

Officials of the Oyo State Government yesterday boycotted the burial service of the former Governor of the state, Chief Kolapo Ishola who died on August 9,2011.

Also, Saturday Vanguard discovered that no member of the opposition party, Action Congress of Nigeria attended the ceremony.

The refusal of the state government may be as a result of controversy that erupted over the alleged N30m that Governor Abiola Ajimobi-led administration offered the family of the deceased but was rejected.

Attendance was low at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium where the event was held.

Former Secretary to the State Government in the state, Dr. Dejo Raimi had shown displeasure with the Action Congress of Nigeria led government by the publicity it gave on the money it gave the family.

While delivering his sermon at the burial service, the Presiding Bishop of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Francis Wale Oke spoke on the theme “we must all die”,

He described late Ishola as a man of peace, urging the congregation to emulate the former governor’s simple lifestyle.

The burial was attended by some of the aggrieved leaders of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including Lekan Balogun, Yekeen Adeojo, the former Senate Leader, Teslim Folarin and Hazeem Gbolarumi ,a former Deputy to Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala during the impeachment of Rashidi Ladoja.

An entirely Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) affair, it was a case of who-is-who in the party hierarchy led by its Vice-National Chairman (South-West) Tajudeen Oladipo, former Governors Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Isiaka Adeleke, both of Osun State, former Minister of Special Duties and Sports, Taoheed Adedoja, former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala’s deputy, Taofeek Arapaja as well as his Chief of Staff, Saka Balogun among several others

Not that bad though, at least Ajimobi did a five days burial for the man....Although Ajimobi is the best governor Oyo had infrastructurally and security wise, but the man wicked and stubborn...RIP to him though.

Please help me p....I really don't know. When someone is gone, they're gone. If you like, eat the corpse, if you like leave it. Dying is not sleeping where the person involved still feels pains and emotions.

In short, this is how they will boycott Makinde's burial

We keep bothering ourselves about burials and who attended and who did not attend as if the dead knows or cares

This is getting stale. To what usefulness is even Their attendance? The dead is left with all he has done. Wether they attend or not is of no essence

So each past governor get to bury his predestor

Makinde be careful so that what happened to your predestors don't come near you.
