The more money you print without creating value, the lesser the value of your money, to the point where your money may not be worth the paper it's printed on.

There are many reasons why a country can't print more money to settle it's debt or increase it's standard of living.
Some prominent reasons are IMF stipulated rules, effect on inflation, balance of payment deficit, fall in the value of the currency and so on.

More money in circulation will leads to increase in prices of goods and services (inflation) which will worsen the economy situation of the country.
