Support For Yahoo Boys: What's Wrong With Nigerian Youths? by Crayfish09: 9:38am On Jul 04, 2020 |
Long before the arrest of Hushpuppy, I have been noticing the blatant and shameless admirations a lot of Nigerian youths have for these thieves. In music, people hail them. On social media, you see hundreds of people praising them as if they are some kind of heroes or they are going to share the loot with them. There was a post on Facebook about a Nigerian scammer that was caught by EFCC. Come and see the way our brothers were shamelessly blasting EFCC and telling them to go after politicians. On nairaland, it is normal to find people outrightly praising and admiring these thieves. Even our "damn niggarr" friend is one of these dishonorable and shameless youths. When Naira Marley was arrested by EFCC, someone told Nairalanders to hit 'like' for EFCC and 'share' for yahoo boys. Believe me, over three hundred people clicked 'share' for Yahoo boys. Sometimes when we criticize them, you hear them asking, "what about what the whites did to us during the colonial era?" what these ignorant people don't understand is that even Nigerians get victimized by the likes of Hushpuppy. I'm very sure most people on this particular thread have been approached in one way or the other by a Nigerian scammer before. Secondly, the whites that the Yahoo boys are targeting did not colonize Nigeria. It was THEIR PAST GOVERNMENT that colonized Nigeria. How many of us would like to be blamed for the actions of Yakubu Gowon or Sir Ahmadu Bello? Also, you hear youths saying that only politicians should be touched, and that Yahoo boys should be ignored because they are lesser thieves. If I had my way, all thieving politicians would be pushed into a giant furnace and be allowed to burn to death, but that doesn't mean Yahoo boys are saints. These people wipe out people's life savings and cause thousands of suicides. We all hate thieves parading themselves as leaders, so why love Yahoo boys? If you Google "countries with most scammers", you will pity Nigeria. It's not as if we are the poorest in the world. In fact, southern Nigeria where the vast majority of the scammers come from actually have a good standard of living compared to we that reside in the north, yet they are the kings of scammers in Africa. The average youth supporting those criminals may think what is happening to the Nigerian Image abroad does not affect him, but anybody that is into international online businesses will tell you what he is going through. If you go to fiverr, you will certainly fail as a Nigerian. Buyers now CLEARLY say that they do not want the services of Nigerians. On PayPal, we are not allowed to receive money despite the fact that there are over 45 million Internet users from this country. Some dating sites outrightly reject Nigerians once they try to join. If you check forums like Kboards, KDP community, BBC's Facebook page and other major platforms, you will see how we are being mocked as "the country with millions of princes" in fact, even shows like Family Guy and Big Bang Theory have mocked Nigerians for being scammers. On Twitter, Africans from different countries hate us and let's be honest, SOME of their reasons are valid. There was this Canadian lady that offered to pay me a $100 for a 20,000 word custom story. Despite the fact that she knows that I'm a legitimate author, this woman stopped messaging me the moment I mentioned my country. Why? Because she is scared. If you open FBIs website, they have a special section for Nigerian scammers. Hundreds of sites are now banning Nigeria and yet, the support for them here seems to be growing. The world is modernizing and the internet business is the future but unfortunately, we are already being shut out. I heard that even Draft2digital and the EU is about to blacklist us (I'm not sure of this). If we can shame these people and treat them just like the way ordinary thieves are being caught and beaten to stupor, Nigerians will be far better off. We have people who do legitimate online jobs everywhere in Nigeria. On this forum, we have the likes of Modath, Eliok, Ymodulus, MK84, Ilegend, Seun, Mynd44, and so on. Outside here, We have the likes of Linda Ikeji. They may never ever be as rich as Hushpuppy or Invictus, but where are they now? Where is the money now? Where is the Gucci? Where is the Rolls Royce? Prophet Muhammad says that the best food one eats is the one that he has worked for. Whether you are a muslim or not, you will have to agree with the statement in its metaphorical form. The 100k that you earn legitimately gives you far more peace of mind and satisfaction than the 1 million you will get through fraud. Illegitimate earners live their lives in guilt and always fear the day nemesis will catch up with them. They always feel a jerk in their hearts whenever another criminal is caught. Let's shun crime and encourage hardwork. With determination and patience, online skills can give you more money than your BS.c certificate. There are far too many jobless graduates and the government can not give jobs to all of us. Online business is the next thing to turn to but unfortunately, another version of criminals are shutting those doors for us all. Lalasticlala please help me spread this article. 12 Likes 1 Share |

Chei it's in this same nairaland that we see people supporting tinubu, ize-iyamu and co. These are well known criminals but efcc won't go after them. A source told me yesterday that the efcc is likely to withdraw their case against ize-iyamu anytime soon....so by what authority do they have to attack yahooBois when they can't attack yahoopolitician? He that comes with equity must come with clean hands . 1 Like 2 Shares |

Vice is the new 10 commandment. Stop wasting your time. Parents no longer care how their children make money. All they care is that they "make it" like others. How do you explain how students from poor families return from school with flashy cars and their poor parents only celebrate them without finding out how. Girl children of poor parents running around with iPhones of N500,000 and it's all normal at home. The church says GOD of old has "changed" as you can now sin as you like but just believe that Christ has already died for the sins and it won't matter. I better not talk about that of government. HUSHPUPPI, the patron Saint of Criminal Fraudsters should be publicly crucified for quickening the festering of this fraud scourge. 4 Likes |

Crayfish09: Yahoo boys steal from a few and you malign them. Politicians steal from an entire country and you praise them. How morally upright does that make you? You put down a small thief but praise big thieves and you are calling what you are doing justice. You should stop being bias 3 Likes |

Crayfish09: I read the nonsense you wrote up there but it didn't address my point. My point is nobody loves yahooBois cos they are criminals but the efcc have no right to attack a set of criminals and praise another set of criminals. If you want to be holy be COMPLETELY holy. If you want to be unholy, do it completely. Nigerians hate partiality which is what the efcc are about.. You cannot hail tinubu and despise hushpuppi. They are both criminals. You cannot love ize-iyamu and hate invictusobi. Gerrit? 3 Likes |

Crayfish09: You support criminal politicians that impoverish a whole state but want me to join you to criticize yahooBois. Buharis mentor is Abacha, do you know how much Abacha removed from this country? And you support Buhari who is removing a lot from NNPC and other oil companies...and impoverishing a whole country. Let me tell you Mr graduate, most of the yahooBois you see probably would be good citizens if the likes of tinubu, Buhari , Abacha's and co hadn't been so corrupt and impoverished a whole country. Crayfish09: Good. So I'm now the owner of this thread... Ladies and gentlemen, nairalanders..I'm now the owner of this thread. Let's us not criticize yahooBois and hail yahoopoliticians. Both sets are criminals and killers. My uncle died in a ghastly motor accident cos a yahoopolitician stole money that should have been used to repair roads.. My friends father lost his life to a faulty generator because yahoopoliticians would never give us light. I know people who have lost their lives to depression cos yahoopoliticians stole their jobs. 95% of nairalanders are unemployed or underemployed because yahoopoliticians stole their jobs. Yahoopoliticians tax our businesses to death. And they eat the taxes. We must tell the efcc to wake up to their responsibilities. If they cannot handle the yahoopoliticians, they should rest.
