Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon is American rapper Pop Smoke's first and only studio album, and a first posthumous release since his 19 February 2020 murder. This had been released by Victor Victor Worldwide and Republic Records on July 3, 2020.
Lil Baby, Future, Roddy Ricch, Quavo, 50 Cent, DaBaby, Lil Tjay, Swae Lee, Tyga, Rowdy Rebel, Karol G and King Combs are guests on the features.

Unlike other musicians of his generation, Pop Smoke was able to express sentiment-he could be cynical one minute, friendly the next. He thrived most when working on instinct, and had a voice that ran deep and guttural, often evoking the threat of a villain in classical cinema.

Shortly before the release of the record, his family revealed that they would take over the non-profit Shoot for the Stars Project that Pop Smoke had begun to set up before his death. He established it with the intention of "establishing a forum that helps young people accomplish their dreams in the midst of living and growing up in tough circumstances." .

His death in February 2020 was cruelly orchestrated during an alleged burglary at his Los Angeles rental house. This debut album was almost completed at the time of his death, and has since been guided by his friend, manager, and label owner Steven Victor through his final stages.

Among those 19 tracks, there are certain misfires. Though following "The Woo" (ft 50 Cent and Roddy Ricch) and its sultry "Candy Store" interpolation "West Coast S * * *" sounds paper-thin.

As the album progresses, space is created for pure trap, and some songs veer to sensitivities of R&B and melancholic reflections. For eg, 'Gangstas' is Pop Smoke at its very best.
