Those who are familiar with Aba will know the story of Aba/Owerri road expecially the railway area and the ASPOLY axis.

Before Gov Ikpeazu put the problem of the railway crossing area of Aba to rest, many of us can vividly remember how people spent hours trying to navigate through the rail just because of how bad and dangerous the area was. There use to be hold-ups that will stretch down to Bata and across. If you manage to get to the rail crossing itself, you still run the risk of having your tires blown up because of how bad and dangerous that spot was. But we all seem to have forgotten these.

Previous administrations made several attempts to address that challenge, but all of their efforts amounted to nothing simply because they were treating the symptoms rather than the root cause of the problem.

When Gov Ikpeazu came, he took time to understudy the challenges, identified it and tackled it head-on.

He realized that no matter what you do there and how much you spent that the problem will persist without building a good drainage system that will take water away from that area down to waterside.

Gov Ikpeazu did just that. Today most of us Cross these area seemlesly without remembering how it was before now.
Well that is one of the things expected from a good leader.

We have a similar situation around ASPOLY area of Aba. Any original Nwa-Aba will know that the only drainage system we have along that area of Aba was built by Nnayi Mbakwe way back in 1982 or thereabout. And these underground drainage systems have all outlived their usefulness and are all blocked. All efforts to have it cleared failed because of it's design. Today, as can be seen in the pictures above, Gov Ikpeazu is doing the NEEDFUL.

Profering a lasting solution to the problem. Those underground drainage system are being removed and new and modern drainage system are being built. Few days ago the CPS to Gov Ikpeazu Sir Onyebuchi Ememanka updated us with the level of work being done with a live video chat. Up there are the pictures of what is currently being done. The idea is to Chanel the water to Aba waterside. Note that the other side of the drainage system have been completed by Gov Ikpeazu administration as well.

Soon the job will be completed and we will all heave a sigh of relief.

We will continue to enjoy the benefit of what Gov Ikpeazu is doing right now long after he must have left the stage.

That's why we have the saying that, "what is whoth doing is worth doing well".

Yes, Gov Ikpeazu has not done all, but surely he is doing more and he is building to last not just for Accolades and Applause.
