Fantasticcc: You Probably don't know that in 1842 the Ibadan Army under Aare Oluyole fought on the side of the Awori against the Egba during the Ota War in one of the Famous Yoruba tribal Wars . That was the War in which Ebutte Meta bacame part of Egbaland. The Egba's were victorious claiming all the Land between Abeokuta and Ebutte Meta. The British later negotiated a Peace agreement in which the Egba border was placed North of Sango Ota with the Awori taking the rest except Ebutte Meta. 1 Like |

Back then western region was the wealthiest {and still the wealthiest } under a regional structure Eastern region was the poorest then but if azikwe was patient and waited an extra 10 years it would have been the wealthiest region because of oil discovery in old eastern region Azikwe was inspired by the Fulanis who had hegemony over northern tribes so he had to establish Igbo hegemony in the south the biggest stumbling block was yoruba nation So he had to “take on” Yoruba nation but failed woefully and became extremely bitter about it till he died |

Osaze007: But do you even know that 50% of the NIgerian Oil reserves were in the Minority Areas of the Western Region. Zik first campaigned for the Western Region to be divided after they had jailed Awolowo then he Campaigned for an Igbo Premier Osadebey to be the Midwest Premier before Ojukwu finally invaded both regions saying he was protecting them from the North. Meanwhile they never allowed the Eastern Minorities a region of their own though they wanted one desperately. |

Fantasticcc:so u Igbos can say someone is tribalistic? it is d greed of Igbos that brought tribalism to Nigeria politics, there are 3 major regions who are to pick premier from their region.igbos want to pick 2 out of 3,does that make sense? Igbos want to b premier in another man's land after having his own The same Igbos who sacked all non indigenes working in Abia The same Igbos who will never allow a church leader from another state govern their church wants to govern another. isn't it obvious u people can't take what u do to others? |
