Who was he serving. As much as the church should take care of their pastors, they shouldn't get carried away from who they are truly serving.

LOL.... Jesus Christ never called you to set up churches as you have it in the world today, so what would having a "centralized system of church resource administration" do for you when it still has nothing to do with what Jesus Christ commanded?
Or are you looking to copy Rome?

That is a made-up story. There was no "each church" as the first Christians came together where they found themselves to do the work of righteousness and to preach the gospel, not to have "praise and worship" meetings or Sunday services as you have it today in churches.

Did you know that the first Christians built and ran a food pantry and welfare system in those days, and this was in obedience to Jesus Christ's commandment to FEED The SHEEP & TAKE CARE OF THE SHEEP? The world is aware of this truth but your world churches are not because they are more concerned about acquiring and managing power and resources for their own selves, ignoring the very work that Jesus Christ commanded of His followers.
