How To Rise Amidst Economic Crisis by Petoz(m): 7:39pm On Jul 14, 2020
The entire world undergoes a forceful change, people have died and still dying, borders were closed and just opening up, the world economy has nosedived, businesses are not as usual as some offices are inoperative, religious gatherings are affected, events are been postponed, world leaders are confuse on the issue and law makers don’t even know what to do. The rich are crying, the poor are suffering, fear has taken over, desperation is gaining prominence, everyone is affected.

Our world was taken unaware by the novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) which has changed the whole narratives. ‘What does the future hold?’ is the question in the lips of many people, things are not the way they used to be; millions of jobs have been lost, people have died in thousands, businesses have gone down in millions. The world will never remain the same again.

In the United States of America alone, unemployment rate jumped from 3.5% to 14.7% between February to April 2020, as 20.6 million jobs have been lost due to the effect of the pandemic virus, a massive disruption that has not been witnessed since in the 1930s during great depression.

About 1.6 billion people employed in the informal economy, nearly half of the global workforce could see their livelihood destroyed due to the continuous decline in working hours brought on by lock downs. 2 billion have jobs in the formal economy representing the most vulnerable workers in the labor market out of the 3.3 billion workers globally, it means COVID-19 impact could cause equivalent of 195 million job losses according to international labor organization (ILO).

The business enterprise is not left untouched as more than 430 million enterprises risk disruption especially those in hard-hit sectors such as retail and manufacturing.
From all angles, it could be viewed that the impact of the novel Corona Virus Pandemic far exceed the financial crisis in 2008-2009. https://wegetinformed.com/2020/07/05/how-to-rise-amidst-economic-crisis/
