By this verdict, Dr. Uba made history as probably the shortest serving governor, having spent 16 days in office after he was sworn-in May 29, this year.

Terminating his regime, Justice Iorgyer Katsina Alu who delivered the lead judgment held that section 180 (2) (a) upon which Obi anchored his case provides that he shall vacate office at the expiration of a period of four years commencing from when he took the oath of office and allegiance.

Justice Katsina Alu agreed with the arguments canvassed by the appellant (Obi) that his four year tenure would expire on March 27, 2010 having be sworn-in as governor on March 27, 2006.

Section 180 (2) (a) in question reads, "subject to the provisions of subsection (1) of this section, the Governor shall vacate his office at the expiration of a period of four years commencing from the date when-
(a) In the case of a person first elected as Governor under this constitution, he took the oath of Allegiance and oath of office."

The apex court held that the court below was wrong in holding that Obi’s case was an election matter to be adjudicated upon by the election tribunal.
Thereafter, the court invoked its powers under section 22 of the Acts to pronounce on the merit of the case.

if this administration did not do anyother good thing, i will not feel too bad. in fact with this alone, i can comfortably rate this administration as been better than the past administration.
he should go to uttah farm at least he invested some of the laundered funds in farm tools so he should be a shareholder there.
another positive step will be to trace his ways to the throne, oh am sorry the yar is also involved. EFCC can revisit his USA money laundary case, waht am i saying? obj was involved.

It doesn't matter to me if we had a hundred governors in five years or something; what matters is that virtue is prevailance at last. And, that this will bring good tidy to the state; in a while to the nation, somehow. Thanks to Almighty.

If most Nigerian politicians had the fighting spirit of Peter Obi, most of them would have joind PDP by now.

Mr. Andy Uba, a lowly veterinary technician who fancies himself as a medical doctor, and who crept into the corridors of power by virtue of being a distant relative to the late wife of former President Obasanjo,  amassed a multi million dollar hoard of loot through federal contract skimming that is exceeded only by the embezzlement-sourced fortune gobbled up by erstwhile Vice President Atiku, "The Thief of Kontagora".

While true justice may never be visited on Mr. Uba, his unceremonious removal from the governorship post that he purchased with stolen money is a good start.

The only true and genuine governor Anambra has had that i know of is NGIGE, but i guess the government hates good things/people

He was the only one that took care of the state like a duty assigned to him, but lo and behold he was removed from seat

I am just wondering; Peter Obi was reinstated because he had an unserved mandate which he has used some months of so he would be leaving before other governors right?.

But look at it too Andy Uba too has a "mandate' though Obi's mandate predates Uba's own could Andy Uba now argue that He too should be made governor in 2010 after Obi? So Anambra now has it's next two governor Or what do you think?
