Not only Toyota that burns oil. Alot of cars out there experience same issue and the manufacturers try to either shy away or suppress such news.

At least 80% of the time ,car owners are using the wrong engine oil 20w50 for their cars and equally too there is a lot of fake engine oil out there too. ...

The only brand of Toyota car that know to short oil are Camry 07 to 08 ,not sure of 09 .. But 07 to 08 camry are factory defect ..... There was a huge recall on them at time.. It almost damage Toyota's reputation.. Thank God there were able to bounce from it .....


Toyota Corolla 09 upwards if there is any complain of oil shortage , this is due to bad owners. The recommended oil for that is 5w20 or 0w20 ,but 5w20 is more suitable for tropical weather, it flows faster during start up in summer time ....

Again using 20w50 on a modern engine on a 2009 car that requires 5w20, you just asking for trouble....



Anything Hybrid cars require attention to details, even coolant.. Most hybrids cars need specific coolant .. Nigerians can hardly maintain normal cars ,na hybrid dey want maintain.....


At the end of the day .. It boils down to maintainence when it comes down to these cars .. Car engines are getting a bit sophisticated and improving as times goes on , we need to move with time too .....



Ps .. Let's keep in mind.. If your factory is building millions of cars or product, you likely going to have defect here and there. It is bound to happen, but it does not necessary mean that the whole product is bad .. And this my car assessment is based on the Nigeria experince...
