jihday: I know one day we’ll be free from the grip of the ‘94 set. They pressured the sport minister till he forced Pinnick to hire one of them. I’m sure Pinnick must be beating himself up for not following his instinct and bringing in Paseiro How that deal fell through is beyond shocking. |

Ibime: This Nigerian team would have done well in Qatar and on good pitches cos I believe we have some player attributes that European teams will struggle with I doubt that. The MKO stadium was a good pitch. |

Ibime: Is Eguavoen not wise enough to know that the Ghanaians will come with spoiling tactics and hope to park bus, and Nigeria as the home team should have the bulk of possession?
This problem may be even deeper than that. I suspect they don't have lawnmowers at that stadium because I did not see any lawnmower lines on that pitch. If you ask me, they laid that pitch few days ago and reasoned that they won't need lawnmowers to cut it before the match if they lay it with few days to the match. If a pitch has been cut, even a week ago, you will see the lines. Those fools didn't have lawnmower jare, and I doubt they had sprinklers cos I didn't see any moisture on that pitch to make the ball move. This looks like typical Nigerian cutting corners, building stadium to show-off with no consideration for the main Koko why the stadium was built. Like a Governor that will build road without drainage.
Addo the Ghanaian coach brought off Jordan Ayew for a CM at half time knowing it's easy work to park bus on that pitch for the second half I don't know what led you to these conclusions. The pitch was the least of our problems yesterday. in fact few hours before the game, the pitch was been cut and the sprinklers were on few minutes before the game and also throughout the halftime break. |

Stillwater10: Most persons here will not admit it, but that is the simple true. There was absolutely no reason to have sacked Rohr as of when we did. What is now the difference between Rohr and Eguavoan? At least Rohr had good history with us. Even if we were sacking Rohr, why employ Eguavoen? what reason exactly? is it cause of his nostalgia for the 1994 style? |

TheGoodJoe:
I repeat and will say it again. We need to get it right. Stop the short cuts. Qualifying for tournaments is mediocre. It means nothing. It is about making a big statement.
Rohr was taking us no where. Even in the next 50years, unless we are okay with just qualifying.
Eguavoen started well but somehow the yes sir thing came to play.
At the end, we need to one day wake up and learn how to okay football. If not, the cycle continues and we will stay satisfied with we qualified. where has Egu taken us too. World Cup that Rohr was qualifying for with no problems, e reach your MCM turn, e fluff am |

Goke7: Truth be said, it's better to start a tournament slowly and build momentum as you progress, most teams who win tournaments are like that like the Kesh team that won afcon. I was sceptical with the way we started from the first game as a house on fire and mind you this is a young team with not much experience.
Kudos to the eagles, hope they will learn from this. Am sure nff boss will be happy to justify his hiring of a foreign coach. Eguavoen was already heading for failure when he kept same line up from the first two games. Keshi succeeded by being ruthless in his team selection for the 2013 AFCON. One he sensed a player to be the weak link, he wasn't hesitant to drop said player to the bench. His problems began when he invited carpenters. I never expected seeing Chukwueze in today's game |

You said it that Nigeria would be lucky to make it to the QF. You have been vindicated
Next time, learn to respect people opinions without resorting to name-calling.
Scam-guaveon There's a reason I didn't make my fear known from the beginning and that's because we were basking in the euphoria of a perceived "Identity" under Eguavoen. I also wouldn't like to speak negative about him because we lost too. I felt we'd lose this game immediately I saw the line-up was the same as the first two games. I still don't consider Eguavoen a better coach than Rohr as the later was also impressive in his first few outing with the Eagles. |

safarigirl: God forbid
I can never like anybody the way I like Mikel, the closest person to that in this squad is Kelechi, not even Maduka. Where do I know Maduka from if no be 2019?
You know who Mikel be? Odogwu ụwa n'ile, player wey pay hotel fees for the whole squad without making noise, UCL, EPL and AFCON Champion, Olympics Bronze medalist, he even defied his coach to play for Nigeria, U-20 Silver Medallist.
Please O, I don talk am for this thread before, make nobody dey call Mikel name anyhow where I dey. Mikel na my own JJ Okocha, my own GOAT, he will always be untouchable. We're mutual in that regard. That's my favourite all time Nigeria footballer. |
