Herbiedeen: say for yourself not everyone..cos the last time i remembered, Akpeyi (a.k.a Akpere) has been fumbling since the first match. His blushes were saved only because of the team (especially the defence setup), if not, Naija won't even smell 3rd place play off talkless of final sef Leave am make hin dey make case where non dey. |

andrewbaba44: What’s the meaning of embarrassment?
There is no embarrassment in football ,football is a game and it takes the mistake of one team to allow the other team win
I am sure you are blind not to see ndidi reckless foul that cost us the free kick
Can you name a GK that hasn’t embarrass him self ?
Leave akpeyi alone ,you didn’t complain till the semi finals
Nigerians always looking for who to blame
Your comments is just full of hate for akpeyi I will not act like I like him, nah I don't. So anytime player commits a foul, we should expect a goal against us because a player did commit a foul. Well, I complain right from the team list of our first game. Akpeyi no good and his brother Ezenwa isn't good either. Damn, we had to use all three GKs in the nation's cup. |

jihday: Any GK can be beaten by a freekick, people just don't like him If he was good, excuses would be made for him but nigga is terrible. He is still in the NT and Uzoho who isn't too good is already first choice over him. Didn't you see how he embarrassed himself in the friendly against Argentina? An amateur keeper wouldn't be so clueless. What of the free kick in that same game. His position was horrible. Nigga was beaten on his spot. Akpeyi is not the first Nigerian keeper to concede free kicks, then why is he always picked on? The nigga is a horrible goalkeeper. |

By the way, you are not happy for him, even for the fact that he proved you wrong. Lemme stop here.
Darkelf There's no sign that we will miss Ighalo. non whatsoever. He had his barren run, he returned to scoring way, he retired. Osimhen came, had a had in all four goals in a single game away at Lesotho. At that age, Iggy was anonymous for the GWG. You can try to play some mind games and say I'm not happy for him. I really don't care. |

ILLICITblood: Wonderkid Bukayo Saka is making a serious claim to be in England’s Euro 2020 squad but Arsenal legend Perry Groves warns it may be too soon
By Oliver Dawnay 27th February 2020, 9:00 am
In what has been another turbulent season for Arsenal, a true gem has been unearthed in the shape of Bukayo Saka.
Despite being small and light on his feet, Saka has taken each game by the scruff of its neck and has become a crucial member in the Mikel Arteta revolution.
With each passing performance, the 18-year-old is turning more and more heads and, inevitably, there are now whispers he could be in contention for a place in England’s Euro 2020 squad.
Saka has dazzled for Arsenal this season Saka produced another superb display on Sunday after coming on for the injured Sead Kolasinac during Arsenal’s 3-2 defeat of Everton.
Not only did he defend brilliantly, but he delivered arguably the best piece of quality in the match when he whipped a marvellous ball in for Eddie Nketiah to guide home.
His delivery was so good former Manchester United and England full-back Gary Neville was left purring at the piece of play.
“The quality of the cross was absolutely outstanding,” Neville said. “All you want is your striker in that position and he (Nketiah) is. He gets a good contact on it.
“It’s harsh to suggest Arsenal fans were happy that Sead Kolasinac went off but there was a bit of a cheer.
“What a cross from Saka. I was having a mundane chat because I thought nothing was on.”
It was Saka’s tenth assist in all competitions this term and he is now giving Gareth Southgate a genuine selection headache ahead of the tournament in June.
The question is – why shouldn’t he be considered?
Saka has shined under Arteta’s leadership Yes, many youngsters have failed to live up to the hype in the past and a call-up at such a young age could be detrimental to his career, but at the moment he is undoubtedly outshining any other left-back in the country.
Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen shot to stardom when they were called up to international tournaments as teenagers – why can’t Saka?
As it stands, Leicester full-back Ben Chilwell is England’s current first choice, but he isn’t performing as well as he was earlier this season and he was torn to shreds by Riyad Mahrez in the Foxes’ 1-0 defeat to Man City at the weekend.
Danny Rose’s start to life at Newcastle has been underwhelming and the 29-year-old has not done enough to retain his place in the Three Lions’ squad, while Luke Shaw is another unconvincing option.
However, despite Saka’s superb breakthrough campaign, Arsenal legend Perry Groves believes a call-up for the Euro’s may come a little too soon as he is still adjusting to becoming an out-and-out left-back.
Ben Chilwell will be Southgate’s first choice left back “I think the Euro’s is a bit too early for him.” Groves told talkSPORT.com. “He’s done brilliantly but realistically he is a wide player who has been asked to fill in at left-back.
“He’s adapted well. Going forward he’s excellent. His final ball is really good as we saw on Sunday for the goal he made for Nketiah.
“The only thing he needs to improve on is recovering the ball quicker because as he is not a full-back he often jogs back instead of sprinting back into his left-back position.”
Groves suggested there are at least three players ahead of the Gunners starlet in the pecking order, but revealed that people at the club have been hugely impressed with his faultless attitude and willingness to improve.
“He’s got competition with Ben Chilwell, Danny Rose and maybe Ryan Bertrand – who are more natural left-backs,” Groves added. “But he’s 18 and playing with no fear at the moment. As the team improves he’s getting better but I think realistically he will go with the Under-21s squad.”
“The next step for him is to play in Aidy Boothroyd’s squad and establish himself there but at the moment he’s not ready to make that step up.
“He’s actually learning his trade in a different position and you can’t have an England left-back who’s learning their trade. It’s not their natural position.
“But I’m lucky enough to talk to people at the club and everyone says his attitude is spot on.
“He’s a level-headed lad and has an eagerness to learn and he’s always asking the coaches for tips and that bodes well.”

We are gradually losing Bukayo Saka to England The appropriate thing to say would be "We've lost Saka to England. " |

Humility017: it is becoming nauseating. c'mon you're more matured than this....
trolling here every Harland makes no sense.
everyone knows the lad is good but using your mention of him to counter our young players exploits in Europe shows is wayside.
this thread is super eagles thread you and Joe initially was doing this with tammy and now that tammy stop scoring you choose to now use Haaland That should summarise their real purpose here. It's one thing to make your point, it's another to drag your brother down "repeatedly" to drive home an overdriven point. I don't know if to say it screams either hate for the player or a dislike for those in-thread analysts who rates our players highly. |

Philosopher1979: We need more options in attacking midfield. The deficiency was obvious against algeria in the nations cup. Of all the foreign born players we need ovie ejaria and or eberechi eze. If we can get kelechi nwakali ill be glad. A team withot midfielders will lack creativity and ball possession Must creativity come from the midfield? |

BascoVanVeli: Of course he has no experience but I have proven that experience talk as BS. Even after sleeping on it I still say Joseph Yobo will be a super hit with the super eagles. This just made Rohr's job 10 times easier. Most of our players look up to Yobo, ffs he has the most caps in history. When he speaks they will listen because he can relate to all of them. If I am Iwobi I am running there to ask him questions about Everton and if I am Ajayi I want to know what to expect in the EPL from a guy who played almost a decade there. This hire doesn't only replace Imama it replaces Mikel because they now have a big brother them.
On the pitch he will improve our defenders immensely. Joseph Yobo doesn't need coaching school to tell you that you are in a wrong position as a defender or give you tricks of the trade. I personally believe he has a coaching certificate, not because I am believing that the NFF wouldn't hire someone without qualification but because I don't think Yobo is the type of person that would accept something like that without following due process. He didn't take short cuts as a player so is it now he will start He has no coaching badge. Fact. Not even the CAF stuff. |
