Hoodlums rob victim of dollars, Euro, buy Keke, bus

Three robbers who dispossed an Anambra State businessman of dollars and Euro have been arrested

It was gathered that they bought two tricycles( Keke) and a shuttle bus with the stolen money.

Reports had it that the robbers had allegedly terrorised people in the Ekwusigo Local Government Area of the state for years.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Haruna Mohammed, who confirmed their arrest said firearms/ ammunition and other incriminating items were recovered from them.


He said their arrest followed "actionable intelligence" by the command's Special Anti Robbery Squad.

He gave the particulars of the suspects as Onyebuchi Osadebe( 28) of Akwu ukwu in Idemili South LGA of Anambra State; Chibuike Ebere (23) of Isiala Mbano LGA, Imo State and ,Umoke Kelechi (22) of Ikwo LGA Ebonyi State.

The PPRO added,"The syndicate had on the July 11 arround 6.15am at Umuibu village, Akwu ukwu allegedly robbed at gunpoint one Emmanuel Obi of his N700,000, 8,000 Euro, $3,000 dollars and some assorted phones.

"Exhibits recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest include one pump action gun, one fabricated gun, four live catridges, N610, 000 cash, 4,600 Euro cash, $600 dollars, one shuttle bus newly purchased with the victim's money, two new tricycles and three assorted phones robbed from the victim.

"Suspects have confessed to the crime voluntarily and investigation is ongoing after which they would be brought to book.

But they seriously need to stop extrajudicial murders...after parading these young men, the next thing they do is take them back, give them shovels, ask them to dig their own graves, and then...you guess what's next.
