They wanted to surprise him by turning up in the car. So as they approached his house they called him on the phone to come out of his gate n in the excitement the friend used speed to drive the car towards him n then brake in order to scare him but as a learner he just hit my brother join the gate. Instant death was the result.
We as family members of the dead man didn't know how to handle the matter because this was his best friend.

PS: Anybody giving this story a tribal colouration will not die a good dead.

I am very sad now.

I believe it was just an unfortunate accident. If she was so targetted as being speculated, there were many ways her death could have been made less suspicious. I just pity the driver and occupants of the vehicle....I remember when I inadvertently knocked my landlord's ward in the compound. I was about putting the car in a park mode to open the gate as I just returned from the office. All of sudden, the car just sprang forward and hit the gate and knocked the guy out. Men! I thought I had killed someone o. Blood everywhere. It still gives me shivers each time I remember it. Accidents do happen and if anything can go wrong, it will go wrong. Back to the issue, the driver will be having a thousand and one thoughts flying in his mind. Chief of which is: Why did I even Leave the house that day? Looking back, I believe my mum's prayer on the phone 5mins before the accident where she said : ' oni ri akoba adaba o' prevented a fatal hit. May God not allow us go out when the road is hungry. They never mentioned the name of the driver, how many people were in the vehicle. They didn't mention the fact that the driver didn't have a driver's license. So many unanswered questions.
In circumstances like this Nigerians are not supposed to hound the authorities for information. It is the right of the people to know.
