Back in 1917, the Bolsheviks thought they had done a proper revolution. By 1991, it fell down in smoke.

The thing about democracy is that it means a lot of hard work. Change does not come overnight.

Canada where many Nigerians run to is developed because many people over time fought for their democratic rights through the democratic process. They did not give up easily.

In Martin Luther King Jr s last speech before he died, he commented that he 'may not get there with you' to his followers. That's how change in a democratic process works. Slow and steady.

We've tried the revolution path in Africa. And at the end of the day, it always fails. Let's try democracy, even this messed up democracy we have. I don't like PDP or APC, have never voted for either party and I wish that we had better parties, but I think our best chance of change is by working within this current system.

Remember the 1966 coup and the 1983 coup were popular coups on day 1. People truly thought revolution had come.
1)The 1966 coup was a terrible failure, I hope you remember. Kaduna was a promising guy but that fool called Ironsi bleeped everything up.
2)Everyone knows that if not for the communist revolution, Russia would have still been a backward nation ruled by worthless and clueless monarchs, just look at who the last tsar of Russia left in charge, a sexual perverted slowpoke like Rasputin that drove the country to the edge. Of course Stalin was evil but Lenin and Nikita tried. Look at China too if not for communism she would have been worthless too.
As for me I believe in Communism and a revolution Bleep our current situation because we are moving nowhere.

What are the aims of your revolution?

And what are you doing to actulaize your revolution apart from yarning on Nairaland?

Who is your ideological inspiration.?

How many people have you told about your revolution.

Am sure the answer to all these questions is none.

Go and form a party. Take the first step.
if you as a Nigerian don't see the need for a revolution in Nigeria then there is no need to continue this conversation...

I knew it

No aims , no ideas.

If you don't know what you want, how do you expect change.?

Go and form a party and get out there and change things. Leave this site alone.

Don't be lazy.( I'm serious, and also tired of hearing the same old cry of revolution for the past two decades.)

is the electoral process pure.. People in power will do everything possible to retain power.. R u in Nigeria @all?
It's not about d people in power,it is we ourselves.
Let me give you an example, d south west claimed Jonathan was bad and voted against him.
Then came Buhari who was a total disaster in his first term yet d same ppl voted him again. How can you rationalize that?
Remove all d votes buhari had in d SW and then add it to Atiku's,Atiku would've coasted home to victory.
With a 2 predecessors who couldn't secure 2nd tenures, Atiku would've sat up by fire by force.
So,blame d citizens, not our rulers.
This revolution you're talking about, if any breakdown of law and order happens in Kano, almajiri and their muslim fanatics ppl will go and start killing Igbo ppl and burning their shops and churches,as simple as that.

This is all false. That is how riot start in Kano. I have been in Kano for over 30 years and has witness riots that happen, but it doesn't happen this way. If it was protest about corpses of northerners brought from another (e.g sagamu riot) or protest about desecration of the Holy Quran or Holy Prophet, then yes, I can agree that it can lead to riots and lost of lives. But this protest is economic protest, it wouldn't lead to riot except faceoff between the protesters and security personnel.
Most of u guys has never been to North but will be thinking that you know everything about them.

As usual, they'll mobilize the almajiris and other charlatans who don't even have a table or store to cause mayhem on the streets. Worried about the non-indigenes with stores there. I hope they keep safe though.

Sabon Gari - foreigners area.

Developers, come home to the East to develop your states.

Wherever goods are sold, consumers who want the goods must travel to that place to buy the goods.

Igbo land is large enough to contain twice the entire Igbo population worldwide.

Look at Hong Kong with small land area but uses high rise buildings to accommodate its large population.

How many Abokiis or Yorubas have you seen build in Igbo land?

While ài agree with you this is an economic protest, I don't think he was wrong to posit that it could lead to a religious uprising. Big sallah is coming and coupled with the Covid19 situation, it could form the basis of a potential religious crisis if not properly managed. They're always looking for the avenue to do this. Pampered souls undecided

Thing is we are not ready for revolution yet when the time comes the notherners southerners wiil all come to rebel against thier common enemy the few who had oppressed them, revolution is not just fighting for better leadership is a fight for democracy, reorientation of our beliefs, ways of life, most of the eurpoean countries also had a revolution in thier history the brittish were formerly more of land owners as authority before the industrial revolution the Americans had the civil war.

Nope u got it wrong, it can never lead to riots against religion or tribe. If the protest has underlying factors like desecration of the Holy Book or Holy Prophet, or the corpses of northerners kill somewhere were brought to the north, ehen, in that case, I can agree that it may to riot and loss of lives. But this one is against the government, so it is between the protesters and the government forces.
This is not the first time economic protests is happening, it happen during GEJ also against increase in petrol price, many years ago, it also happen against the VC BUK.
It is just that u guys like to associate anything about the north to bloodshed which is wrong, bigotry and danger of a single story.

But we all know how they use religion as an excuse each time. It's no fault of any southerner not to have fears over religious or economic protests in the North. Back in the days when ABU students were using any academic crisis to trigger a larger crisis in the state then. I still believe it is possible.

Its because the Yorubas are the wisest of all the tribes. They would keep quiet and still carry out what chest beaters are shouting about. They will keep quiet and executive what the impatient north would do.

Wisdom is the senior of gragra you inherited from your forefathers.

We hold this Nation intact.
The day we say we no dey do again, Nigeria seizes to be.

That's Yoruba Tribe for you. Always accord us with respect. We are the binding cords of Nigeria.

You were probably born in 2010. You don't know history. Start with the riots of June 12, from 1993 or Bristol hotel saga of 1948. Or just organise an interview with IBB.

That place is not sabongari.
Sabongari is dominated by Southerners ( Igbo, Auchi, benue, and Kogi people with few Yoruba )
That road is a major road close to Yankura market where extension of shops are being destroyed because it's on s major road and it causes traffic .
Just like local government / tax force in lagos that forces removal of shop extensions.
