The National leadership of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC has dissolved all the interim arrangement in all the states in the country and appointed a seven-member committee to oversee the affairs of the council until a proper election is done.

The acting national welfare officer of the council, Shedrach Oka while inaugurating the seven-member committee in Ogun state at the INEC office, Abeokuta explained that the dissolution rose from the resolution at the 2nd extra-ordinary meeting of IPAC held in Abuja on 25th June, 2020.

Oka added that it was resolved that the seven-member committee will oversee IPAC’s activities in the respective states of the country pending when date for fresh election is announced.

He however said he was delegated alongside two other executive members to supervise the exercise in Ogun state.

Oka further disclosed that the meeting which was done following the formation of a quorum and in contest of 12 political parties which include; All Progressives Congress, New Nigeria People Party, People Democratic Party, National Rescue Movement, Accord Party, BOOT party, Action Democratic Party, Social Democratic Party, Allied Peoples Movement, Peoples Democratic Party, Zenith Labour Party and African Action Congress led to the emergence of the chairman of New Nigeria Peoples Party, Olaposi Oginni as the interim chairman of the IPAC in the state.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that other members of the interim committee include; Evang. Adesina Abraham of NRM as secretary, Adebisi Adewale of ACCORD as Treasurer, Ayo Jinadu of SDP as PRO, Gbenga Shobowale of SDP as organizing secretary, Kehinde Oyatayo of APM as financial secretary, and Adeniyi Femi of APC as the youth advisor.

The national welfare officer of the council charged the new interim committee to ensure the council plays its advisory role to the Dapo Abiodun-led administration.

In his remarks, the interim IPAC chairman promised to run an open door policy where all members of the council will participate and be engaged.
Oginni however promised that IPAC will play its advisory by engaging the government in power in a constructive criticism.

He added, “It is going to be a new dawn, the work of INEC is becoming easier because we have 18 registered political parties as we are speaking and as a one-time chairman of league of registered political parties, it is a terrain I am familiar with all the chairman of all political parties.

“We are going to run an open door policy, bring everybody on board and we are going to make sure he dividend of democracy get to our people.

“We are going to play our role constructively, engaging the government in power not in a destructive manner to advise them and we pray they will listen to our advice.

“The IPAC will play the role of serious adviser to the political leaders in the state and we will make suggestion to National quarter to make Nigeria better.”
