These people are perhaps, victims. I agree. These people should be given another chance at life and at living. I don't disagree. But should that be done now... when parents are yet to be reunited with their children, when widows are still mourning and when orphans continues to increase?

Perhaps the brains behind our military thinks the decision to release and integrate this guys back into the society_ would motivate others like them to repent. This is how President Buhari desire to win the war against terrorism.

And make no mistake, there are powerful people in Nigeria, that do not want a single Boko Haram member to die, because Boko Haram represent their ideals and their income.

It is difficult to think President Buhari is not part, but really he seem unawares of many things. And that is the reason why, chad lap of victory over Boko Haram is reduced to naught only in few months. The foot soldiers are dying, and they die, never understanding what is ongoing.

Boko Haram would continue to recruit new hands, the government makes sure of this... ''join Boko haram, pay your dues, repent, you would be released, your future is secured...' privileges that the average northerner has not, will be extended to these so called repentant men.

Many in the north have no choice really, their villages, raided, their uncles slaughtered, Boko Haram provides shelter, safety and now a future, courtesy to President Buhari's decision.

Thousands have died, by these men, young girls raped by these men, they know to kill, they know the terrain of Boko Haram, they have the experience, so rather than release this people back into the society. Could not the Nigeria army have harnessed the repentants experience and make them lead the way and war in the ongoing battle against Boko Haram? But that is not their goal, is it?
