Holding a polythene bag i trugged down clement street, the street was said to be a hub of activities, ranging from the early cries of hawkers who used sonorous voices to advertise thier wares.
"èkàró ó ológî de o", "finey butter bread", "sweet puff puff, sweet puff puff"then to the evangelists who would carry heavy megaphones to preach christ.
" brother, sister don't let jesus catch you in beer parlour, it is hell fire straight" they will proclaim, "iya lagbaja don't gossip you wee not hear when rapture come now you will start begging for second chance"
Then the boys who would rush to play "kolo beating "(a childhood football game) before the big agbayas(egbon kunle, brother lanre etc) chance them to the field. . . .

I suddenly navigated to the corner which leads to the local field, there i met the brodas already playing while a group of teary kids looked from afar.
Though i do play on the field i was not a fan of chasing a bunch of kids with palmfronds or bamboo rods. The kids onced rebeled against the brodas.
That fatefull day i took the lead to cajole the kids to leave the field for us but they refused, i even tiped them with a sum of #150 but they remained admanant.
My friends who were right behind me were enraged at the kids behaviour pushed me aside and flooded the field with bamboo rods, the kids retreated then gathered at a save distance they then chanted a funny sounding slogan.
"kolo gangs, kolo for real we no they tire" their leader chanted and they replied in unision "KBG",in a twinkling they dispersed in to the nearby bush giving themselves enough distance.
Thier leader who was still in middle of the field screamed. "AGBAS" At that moment they came out from all directions in number.

Well that story is for another day.

I noticed the kids but i acted like i don't care, even with the beatings these guys are still stubborn. But, may . God help me deal with tope that pastor son, the boy beat me but if not that, that day was a wednesday i would have fought back i don't fight on wednesdays.

Then i heard kunle voice, " segun, shey arun stroké ó ti gbè baba e" he shouted after me,"mo ri won lojokan bayii, wón gbë gan".
kunle was a guy who has written jamb and waec 12 times , until he got addmitted to unilorin, where he was later rusticated due to his .. Which was going in to negative. They are not rich nor poor rather are they able to make all ends meet, they are just there.
He once said that he went to a NIKE store and saw his fathers salary on a pair of trainers.
He was also rude, proud . . . . This attitude made them boys leave him to himself.
