Eid al Adha. Feast of sacrifice, also called Eid Qurban or Bakra Eid. is the second of the two islamic holidays celebrated worldwide each yeah.
It honours the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Ismael as an act of obedience to God's command. But before Ibrahim could sacrifice his son, God provided him a lamb to sacrifice instead. In commendation to this intervention, an animal usually a sheep, is sacrificed spiritually. One third of the sheep/ram is consumed by the family offering the sacrifice while the rest is offered to the poor and needy. Sweet and gifts are given, and extended family are visited and welcomed
