Spain Deports Another 60 Nigerians by freeman191(m): 9:34am On Feb 11, 2011
BARELY three days after 85 Nigerians were deported from Europe, another batch of 60 were, on Thursday, again deported by the Spanish government, thus bringing to 145 the number of Nigerians deported in the last three days. The deportees, who arrived the Murtala Muha-mmed Airport, Lagos, aboard an Air Europa chartered flight, were brought in at 5.30 p.m.

They comprised 45 males and 15 females and were brought back for committing various immigration offences, ranging from drug trafficking to immigration-related offences.According to sources in the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the deportees, accompanied by law enforcement agent from Madrid, Spain, were received at the Lagos airport by their Nigerian counterparts and other law enforcement agents. Those who were brought based on drug-related offences were handed over the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further interrogation, while those with immigration offences were taken away by the NIS for further interrogation. Only on Tuesday, 85 were deported, comprising 56 males, 19 females and 10 children who were said to have committed several immigration offences, credit card fraud and other social vices.

Well, what an embarrassment to their country, families and to themselves. I belong to the school of taught that says you can be successful in your fatherland and not necessary for you to travel abroad and embarrass the nation. Is it only our nation that is going through difficulties, that you will result to travelling abroad to engage in criminal activities, if you have enough finances to travel to spain, whether by land, desert, sea or by air, you could as well used that money to start a business venture for yourself.

In the 1970′s we used to travel abroad for shopping, our economy was at par with the European countries, we were not a source of nuisance to this countries, they encouraged us to come to their country, we never required visa’s to travel, now we agree that the country has seriously dropped inform, if i may use that word, but that does not mean we have to subject ourselves to Riddicle and spoil our father’s name, all in the name of getting rich quickly.

We are a proud nation with values, whatever problems we have, we should work together and solve it, and not wash our dirty linen in public, its okay to travel abroad, but make sure you add value to the country you come from, and give other people a chance to go over their, because of your good behavior, and not limit other people’s chances because you were a bad example of who we are.
