Hello good people of Nairaland.
I will be brief and detailed as possible. Pls all your input are needed

I need advice on the best way I can help my younger brother with little funds either with little business Or skills.
I Have 5 half Siblings (2 boys and 3 girls). We’re all from different mothers. Our father died 2010 and that left many of us struggling at a younger age. Our first son is in his early 40s. Not doing so well for himself but has kids, atleast he is managing himself. I am the second son( 28) but 4th born and then my immediate younger brother. He is 27. I won’t talk about the girls for reason best know to me. (Note: each one of us are from different mothers)

I’d say amongst all my siblings, I’m the most privileged because my mother is well to do. She single handedly sponsored my education from junior secondary when my dad passed on to university ( schooled in one of the best private universities in Gh) I won’t Say the same for my other sibling because non of them is doing well. That I’m really grateful to her.

Now I’m independent And living alone With something giving me a faily good Cash (I’m into crypto trading and investment and also saving for my business by next year )

My worries Now is my younger brother. I feel bad sometimes that atleast I’m a little comfortable why he is idle and hustling in the streets. We actually grew up together with my father from childhood before he passed on. Before I moved in to my personal apartment after school, I thought about him living with me but on a second thought, he isn’t working nor have any source of income so that would be a big burden on my side because I’m not super comfortable. Just at the point where I can provide all my needs and pay my bills.
I just send him cash most times in the little way I can.

Last month I told him to find a good skill he can learn so I can pay but he couldn’t come up with something tangible and I brought the idea of phone repairs then later support him by opening a phone accessory shop for him but I don’t know if that is sustainable and considering the cost of renting a shop and getting things. That will be a lot and I don’t want him to keep waiting for me to raise cash. I need something I can Atleast support with 100k that can sustain him and he can plan from that.

Pls guys I need the best skill or business for him. To make matters worse. He called me today that his girlfriend just put to birth on Sunday and that really got me thinking a lot. Imagine someone with no source of income impregnating a girl smh

Note: he is very hardworking. He was into excort driving but he later stoped it after having problem with the manager. He’s a very good driver. He has just his waec certificate.

Teach him what you does, and help him to get started

Since he's a good driver, why not assist him in getting a car on hire purchase to use as a cab?

If he has interest in a skill he would have mentioned it since. You can't really suggest a skill for someone which he/she has no interest in, it is usually a disaster.

I suggest you help him get a Uber or Bolt contract. he's only good at driving. anything else might end in premium tears. also don't bring him to ur crib. arms length parole.

Phone repair is a very lucrative job and I don't see it go into extinction soon. At least all he needs to get are the tools for a start. If he's very meticulous at it he can probably develop himself.

Shoe making is also a good idea. At least he can't get broke and he can even start earning while learning depending on how serious he is.
God bless you Op.
