In Genesis 13, we are told of Abraham's generousity as an act of faith. He gave Lot the opportunity to choose any section of the land he wanted. We are told that Lot took a long look at the fertile plains of the Joadan Valley in the direction of Zoar. The land that Lot choose was compared to the garden of Eden. To the world, Lot had made a right choice. But the bible told us that his choice was self-seeking. Lot was totally selfish without concern from Abraham or faith in the Lord. As believers we have to be careful when making choices and decisions. Some choices can be for a period sacrificial, requring that we endure difficult times. Likewise some choices can be quick fix solutions that do not allow us to train ourselves for similar/ bigger problems that may arise in the future.

In contrast, Abraham was more concerned that there be no conflict between them as they were close relatives.  Abraham gave Lot the choice land because he believed in God's promise. Do you believe that God can do better than whatever your dreams are?

Genesis 13:14 said "After" Lot had gone, the Lord said to Abram------------------------" Meaning after "HINDRANCE"had gone and Abraham had made the right choice of trusting in God, the Lord showed up and said "And I will give you so many descendants that, like the dust of the earth, they cannot be counted". Abraham believed, and trusted God by building an altar at the place God made the promise. What a move of faith. This is the kind of act that moves God.


Psalm 34:8
"Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!"

Psalm 33:4-5
"For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth"
