Nation newspaper! Hmmm,

Every where is calm in Benin City.

No one said there's an ongoing war in Benin City, anyways, so what's your point?

And can you alone be everywhere in Benin City at the same time for you to claim "ever where is calm?"

They are no longer members of the house cos their seats have been declared vacant so why the hell do they still want to attend a plenary? When did non members start attending a plenary?

Oshomole is really trying hard to fight back but he's already a goner

How can u declare seat of members vacant without them being swear in by taking oath of office first.? Common sense is not really common they say, how can u declare a vacant seat vacant again na.

Political parties using money to buy people's conscience. I'm sure those law makers were given juicy promises to do as they command
they collected 40m naira each. It'sin the public domain. They must have been threatening them to sit so they could do their abracadabra. Those monies aren't free man! The giver whose name i'd not mention here must have seen the signs on the wall so he needs results. I'ts like an investment. Once the money is gone without yielding fruits, it means a lot but there's nothing they can do about it, illegality doesn't have 2 names. In the face of humiliation the apc is currently facing in edo with obaseki pepe dem song which people are singing everywhere they go to campaign, such pressure to sit becomes necessary. But it would be difficult oo. 14 among them boycotted inauguration which expressly means their seats have been vacant since inauguration in accordance with the constitution.

For you to think right, just imagine your family member is one of those Honorables that were not allowed to discharge their duties and earn all their privileges.

Sometimes it's good to take sides with sense.

Some persons will support Obaseki's act of not inaugurating those lawmakers giving flimsy reasons that should even be given to primary school kids.

But the same persons will call Buhari tyrants if he tries same.

I guess we are all hypocrites in this country. grin

Only 5 out of the 17 are lawmakers. The 12 are yet to be properly inaugurated/sworn in

I don't think they needed any promises or reward for two reasons: they were elected to seat and debate as it is in our constitution, no governor or president as the right to lock them out. Two: Obaseki didn't allow 14 of them to be sworn in for the past four years, tell me if those ones need any promises?

It seems obaseki is taking weed. He is saying 17 lawmakers cannot take over a house made of 24 members because a case is in court. Was there no case in court when the seats of 14 members were declared vacant? All the time he had to secure the loyalty of more members of the house to his side, he squandered it and was instead fighting with everybody. I guess the remaining few lawmakers still on his side may jump ship if he keeps on fighting imaginary enemies.

The speaker advised INEC to conduct a fresh election but they haven't. So blame INEC for that

Because there was no vacancy. Why blaming INEC?
By speaker, you meant minority leader?

Obaseki is saying their decisions don't bind him. He is falling headlong into a big trap. I wonder if he specifically picked his political enemies to advise him.

Their aim is to make Obaseki discountenance them and then they would impeach Obaseki.

Lol. It's like you don't know the process it takes to impeach a governor.

See stupid folks on the FP saying their seats have been declared vacant so are not members of the house. Who gave the speaker the right to declare the seat of his fellow honorables vacant?

That's how you lots will be supporting impunity until the tables turn.
