I know what was written in the bible but today Christians know better that's why we don't do most of this stuffs written in the bible because we live in a different time, same should go for other religions, humanity, love and tolerance should supercede all this other violent acts that believers translate literally for their holy book.today we face a massive poverty rate with a large number of out of school children we are talking about family planning and having kids you can cater for but so many religious folks will tell you get married to more wives and having many kids is part of their religious right ignoring the socio economic damage this decision inflict on the well being of society. for Nigeria to move forward we have to collectively talk about our now and how to preserve our collective future, rather than spend all our time and resources holding on to or trying to maintain the ways of the past even when it works against our future.

While the Old Testament records exist in the Bible for wisdom and understanding, Christians are under the new covenant..

Jesus came to fulfill and not abolish the laws because the true intent of the law is to win people's heart to God and fulfill that sovereign of all laws: "Though shall love the Lord thy God with all your heart."

Unfortunately evidence showed it's possible to fulfill all the law and still fall short of God's intention. This was shown in the young wealthy man that claimed to Jesus he had fulfilled all the laws but failed that sovereign of all laws when Jesus told him to sell all he had and follow Jesus. This inadequacy of the Old made the need for the New Covenant apparent.

You cannot get to Heaven from religiously fulfilling the laws but hypocrites often try to hoodwink others. When the woman caught in adultery was brought to Jesus, he said he who has no sin should stone her first. None could and they all went away.

How often have you underplayed your own sins but very eager outwardly to condemn others and apply the law? People don't go to heaven from defending God in the public but from having the heart in tune with God. Even your enemy can kill someone purportedly because of you! Most zealots are hypocrites and God already knows that.

Would you have expected to find tons of pornography videos in the house of Bin Laden for all the zeal he demonstrated for Allah killing infidels? And yet he apparently suffered no cognitive dissonance.

First love God with all of your heart and let people see and feel it, before going out to punish others for breaking His laws. People can fight with and for you and their heart will still be far from you. You know that. God also knows that.

MY SIS ALMOST CHOPPED MY HEAD OFF WHEN I TRIED TO PUT THE TWO RELIGIONS TOGETHER YESTERDAY. SHE SAYS JESUS CAME WITH GRACE AND WIPED OFF ALL THE OLD THINGS.
MANY CHRISTIANS THINK LIKE THIS TOO. CHRIST'S GRACE INVOLVES CLEANSING ONLY THE MOST SHAMEFUL PARTS, BUT NOT TITHES AND IMPOSSIBLE EVENTS THAT ARE HOOKED UNTO TODAY AS MIRACULOUS POWER OF GOD.
WE WON'T FORGET THE "DARK AGES" WHEN GRACE WAS SWEPT UNDER THE CARPET AND THE OLD TESTAMENT RULED THE WORLD.

The prophet Muhammad according to history went to listen to the disciples of Christ preach the gospel. He then decided to go back to Mecca to preach the same gospel he had heard.

What then went wrong?

Despite all the confusion, it is clearly written in the Quaran, that whatever is not clear in the Quaran, reference should be made to the Bible for clarity.

So what really is the problem?

Yah but if you read it completely, he was condemning them as people who are not even worthy to sentence someone to death when they themselves insulted Prophet Muhammad. Yah he said that but he also called the people that dished the sentence hypocrites.

There goes the problem again. I clearly mentioned that Mohammed listened to the disciples preach.

What gospel were the disciples preaching? They preached the gospel according to Christ.

The gospel of Christ teaches on how to handle the teachings of the old testament.

For instance, the old testament preaches an eye for an eye but the gospel of Christ teaches us to exchange that law with his teaching of turning the other cheek, if your other cheek gets slapped.

In essence, Islam should have the same teaching according to Christ because the pioneer of Islam listened to the disciples. So what went wrong?

I believe Muslims love the teachings that gratifies their animalistic nature because they have the same teachings as the Christians but selectively choose the animalistic ones from the old testament.

Christianity is ultimately about the teachings of Christ as depicted in the new testament, which is used to better understand and deal with the old testament. So in essence the teachings of Christ is what makes us Christians and not Judaism which is the old testament teachings.

So Islam, what went wrong?
