But I completely disagree he is under any obligation to give proceeds of the sale of his book to anybody. He may have said he would give the proceeds out, yet reserves d right to change his mind.

I do agree saying he will give out proceeds of the sale of his book may positively affect it's sales, however, the money is still his and he decides what he does with it.
