● A major transformation in the Edo State Revenue System is the successful introduction of ERAS (Edo Revenue Administrative System) which is an innovative and artificial intelligence technology scheme that enables the government track, access and notify the taxpayers of their obligations to the government.

● The introduction of ERAS helps bridge the gap between the Government and the people as it enables them to interact and transact with the government electronically in settling their tax payment.

● This scheme comes with a good number of benefits enjoyed by the taxpayers, such as; Health insurance, Accident and Death Insurance. The market women insurance is nearing completion and will be rolled out shortly.

● During the COVID-19 pandemic, the system enabled the government to be able to track taxpayers and they ensured that they benefitted from welfare palliatives and waivers

● Since the introduction of this system, ERAS has been able to account for an increase in the State Revenue collection
