its not a rule actually, but English clubs just like to include the clause in loaned players

Shut up abeg overrated how? Wining 6 trophy in a season is over rated .13 UCL for Madrid is overrated learn how to talk. So if you're good in something and loose form you're fluke just over night? Some people can talk thrash. Congratulations to Bayern I'm a Barca fan I lost . Bayern were far better but that doesn't mean Barca is over rated we dominated Europe and earned our reputation simple . If this same Bayern you're hailing losses form you'll still criticize them I suspect you must be an Epl fan .

Don’t call him a flop, tell me which Barça player has managed to perform since moving to Barça. There is something wrong with the structure of the club, the problem doesn’t lie with individual players. Look at De Jong at Ajax, dembele at Borussia, Griezmann at Atletico, Coutinho at Liverpool and Arthur at Brazil. They are proven match winners, but when you have players like Suárez, Busquets, pique, Roberto, Alba still playing as a starter, then you know the club isn’t ready to move on from their past glory. Barça are in free fall and will take massive sales for them to return to their elite status.

At least he was kind enough not to rub it in after he scored, unlike that player on loan that sent his parent team to relegation by scoring a last minute goal against them and his former team mates were running to beat him up as he celebrated the goal.

Coutinho won me over with his gracious gesture. Funny enough, I had envisaged this kind of revenge scenario at the beginning of the season when we loaned him to Bayern. It came to pass!

it's actually a RULE in England.
Loaned players aren't allowed to play against their parents clubs in the League.
But they can play against them in cup competitions except they are cuptied. (Section 7.2 of Rule M.6).

UEFA also has a rule that allows loaned players to play against parent club and they discourage any inclusion of contract clauses which may say otherwise.
A defaulting club is sanctioned heavily.
