I believe that as a special envoy,he was not appointed by President Buhari but by ECOWAS.

So Jonathan is far beyond being labeled an errand boy.

He is acting in capacity for west Africa and not only for Nigeria.

The gentle and handsome man is actually occupying a very exalted and enviable role that other past presidents cannot attain.

He went to brief President Buhari because President Buhari is also a member of ECOWAS heads of state.

He equally briefs other leaders.

It is not that he is running errand or something.

He briefs them in other to extract commitment from them towards a peaceful resolution of Malian crisis
