It's pathetic sir

If we sit down and do a thorough analysis and documentation of what goes on behind the scenes in this country, there would be a serious problem. Mali would be child's play.

Thing is, they've succeeded in churning out series of dumb stories and farcial activities to turn youths' attention from the real issues.

And we're stupidly budging. We're buying it!!!

Why wouldn't there be racism in other climes against our roots?
When so called baboons called leaders milk us dry to invest in Europe and America? When it's obvious we're suffering here?
What will the whites think of us here? "Monkeys that cannot Stand up for themselves"

A country like Nigeria in over 60 years cannot boast of a functional refinery and we find it funny?

Viable sectors are being monopolized by some power drunk idiots and we keep singing their praises and fighting for them on social media?

I absolutely agree with everything you wrote up there. The youths are too deluded, trust me. They're just a bribe away from speaking up. So pathetic indeed!

The leaders are simply a reflection of the citizens afterall... undecided

It's our fault. We should protest this deliberate gross lost. We should insist on fixing our refineries. Our leaders are benefiting from the current system. The borrowed monies should be used to fix our refineries first. And if it works to full capacity, our debts will be easily paid and we will not need to borrow money any more.

Cursed be all the leaders that are doing this deliberately.

no wonder when Atiku said one of the things he will do is to sell of the refineries and the cabals started shouting ontop of the roof because it will end their lootery. why spend such huge sum to maintain something that doesn't produce anything in return?

1.Most Nigerians don't like privatisation of refineries because it means high petrol prices, despite the fact that it is a good idea, and that competition long term will bring down the prices.

2. Our police and military need far more than 120billion naira in extra funding
yes, even 30b naira isn't enough to take care of our forces. Privatisation is way to go. In the long run, it would be beneficial to all. Our people shouted more when obj did same to telecoms

The question we should be asking is what the money that keeps going into this place is used for and not tell us how much was pumped in.

Investigation of funds should be carried out this way we will hold to account that which should be accounted for and not pouring laments. All this laments is for who exactly? For us Nigerians to incur pity ABI blame past Government?

When Atiku said he would sell the refineries if he became President, many people condemned him. Even some who are now faking pains at this announcement.

So some of you needed to hear N120b before it finally clicked in your brain that the failed refineries are a bottomless pit of corruption?

Too many blind people claiming woke.

Thesame country (nigeria) spending more than #120b on 3 refineries that are not working, yet it's same country someone from the North is building a private own refinery that will commence production next year. What does tell us as a country?
Who told you those refineries aren't working? The refineries are working according to their design capacity.
Have you visited the plant of those refineries to ascertain that they're not working?
A qualified petroleum engineer in Nigeria can't suggest a solution to the problem but rather fronting for the sale of the said refineries, that's incompetence.
That petroleum engineer is a complete failure.
Should such persons be hire, completely No.
NEPA was sold yet electricity is very expensive despite that no electricity for use.

The conclusion of the report is simple

Privatise the refineries

Privatise Nnpc

Remove subsidies on fuel

And all that waste won't be happening
LOL, NEPA is privatized yet high nepa bills, no electricity. Former petroleum minister stole billions of dollars funds from upgrading those refineries to full capacity yet she has not been prosecuted. Nigerians should start from accountability first.

1.Them discos are not charging high prices. In fact the prices they charge are below production costs, plus about 48% of customers don't pay. Since 2013 most discos have been running at a loss.

2.Privatization of the petroleum sector would end corruption from the ministry of petroleum since Nnpc would have to work for their money, as compared to being under government

This is why Atiku swore to sell off these idle refineries. They will be more active and profitable if in private hands. How on earth will be government paying for idle refineries that bring nothing but loss.

All i can say is to laugh at your comment, a company running at a loss with 48% of customers not paying their bills, then would we say it is solving the problem?
Privatization of nepa hasn't solved the problem either because we keep hearing the government funding facilitation for electricity for huge amounts of money yet no stable electricity. We keep privatizing our national assets yet no result,
EPCL ( eleme petrol chemical limited) is a subsidiary of NNPC that produce and refine liquefied and natural gas, it was privatised claiming gas would be cheaper and stop flaring of gas which would be used to power the gas plants and improve electricity in the country yet nothing is happening, I heard some politicians and their cronies bought it for them selves.
As a country what can we manage?we are bigger in population than Saudi Arabia yet they're managing their resources effectively. We should be ashamed we have engineers who graduate from our university yet we still import petrol and others.

At which point, I invite you to run a business where you don't let 48% of your customers pay you...they take your goods for free. You would be struggling in a few weeks financially

Privatization of nepa hasn't solved the problem either because we keep hearing the government funding facilitation for electricity for huge amounts of money yet no stable electricity. We keep privatizing our national assets yet no result,

No, privatization of the power sector does not work because government forces the DISCOS to charge artifically low prices, and pays them the difference.

In other words, imagine if you owned a business selling shoes. You buy them at N2000 a pair and plan to sell them at N2500 a pair making a profit of N500 a pair.

Government steps in, forces you to sell the shoes at N1000 a pair, and then pays you a subsidy of N700 a pair. Not only are you not making a profit, but you don't have the cash to pay your suppliers.

That's how we treat the power sector. Then we refuse to pay our bills.

I suggest you google for the Pricewaterhousecoopers report on the Nigerian power sector. It makes for some good reading.

Well, so long as we keep on subsidising fuel, the whole crude oil sector would be running at a loss . That's why we don't have as much investment in new refinereis as we should...and that means we cannot build more plants like EPCL.
.
As a country what can we manage?we are bigger in population than Saudi Arabia yet they're managing their resources effectively. We should be ashamed we have engineers who graduate from our university yet we still import petrol and others.

Saudi Arabia produces over 10 million barrels of crude a day for a population of 35million people

Nigeria produces 2million barrels of crude a day for a populaiton of 200 million people.

We don't earn as much as the Saudis do, and the Saudis have enough money to fund their oil sector adequately, and have a surplus.

Plus, Nigeria spends billions on subsides. These keep fuel prices low, and discourage investors from building more refinereis. (And yes, we pay the lowest for fuel in West Africa....our neighbours pay more...which is why smuggling happens.).
