Responding to the declaration by the Northern Political Leaders Forum (NPLF), that this year’s general elections would be worse than that of 2007, and the body’s insistence that the geopolitical North would produce the president in the April polls, the Presidential Campaign Committee (PCC) of the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party has urged the leader of the group, Mallam Adamu Ciroma not to divide the country.

NPLF had in the run up to the PDP presidential primaries presented former vice-president Atiku Abubakar as its consensus candidate. The group also, maintained that the PDP should respect its constitution by ensuring that its presidential flag bearer comes from the geo-political North.

In its statement on Tuesday, the Mallam Adamu Ciroma-led NPLF had also, urged the opposition political parties to gang up against the PDP to wrest power in the forthcoming general elections.
