AGRICULTURE WILL PRODUCE NEXT GENERATION BILLIONAIRES IN AFRICA-President of African Development Bank Adewumi Adesina

The President of African Development Bank (ADB) Adewumi Adesina has disclosed that, if properly nurtured, the agricultural sector would be producing the next generation billionaires in Nigeria and the rest of Africa.

He also described that one of the important areas ripe for entrepreneurship is the agricultural sector, stressing that the size of Agribusiness in the continent would be worth $1 trillion by 2030.

Agriculture is not a way of life, it is not a social sector or a development activity, it is a business. So Africa should move beyond agricultural sciences to see it more as a business. The more we treat it as a business, and a way to create wealth, the more it will promote development and improve people’s lives.

According to Adewunmi Adesina, “The future millionaires and billionaires of Africa will not come from the Oil and gas sector, but from the agricultural sector.”
