GBAJABIAMILA, MURI-OKUNOLA PAY CONDOLENCE VISIT TO COKER FAMILY

The Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola in company of the Body of Permanent Secretaries, on Thursday, paid a condolence visit to the family of late Chief Folarin Coker (Baba Eto of Lagos), a pioneer Permanent Secretary in the Lagos State Civil Service.

Speaking at the residence of the Coker family, the Honourable Speaker noted that the late Chief Coker was a public administrator, who left a legacy worthy of emulation and was abundantly blessed to have attained the age of 97 years.

He maintained that the contributions of the deceased to the Lagos State Civil Service as Permanent Secretary and his stewardship in various Ministries attest to his commitment to the development of the State.

The Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, in his condolence message, commiserated with the family on the passage of Late Chief Folarin Coker, describing it as an irreparable loss not only to the family but also to the State Government and the entire Nation.

While presenting the condolence letter to the family of the deceased on behalf of the entire Public Service, Muri-Okunola stated that late Chief Folarin Coker was a dedicated, trustworthy and courageous officer while serving the State.

He affirmed that the deceased contributed significantly to the development of the State and its Public Service, saying “These qualities earned him recognition and his meritorious appointment as a Permanent Secretary in the State Public Service.

In his remarks, the representative of the family, Mr. Folorunsho Coker, who is also the Director-General, Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, thanked the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, the Body of Permanent Secretaries and the Director-General, National Lottery Board, Mr. Lanre Gbajabiamila for their visit to commiserate with the family.

While maintaining that the burial ceremony will be conducted in total compliance with the safety guidelines for COVID-19, Coker said details and dates for the funeral ceremonies will be announced in due course.
