...the problem is not with not having a degree.. There are three dimensions to it;
1. Does having a degree transform to performance, No?
2. Can't that degree be bought or gotten on a platter of gold, Yes, it can?
and
3. How do you determine with his or her degrees, and professional qualifications, that he or she will be the best candidate, that remains a guess for you and I.

Misplacement of priority,we still have inec not being able to present electronic evidence in court,Any Electoral amendments without e-voting is nonsense.
The chairman should not be selected by the presidency.
We need E- voting platform,if BB naija and Some universities in Nigeria can use it,if banks and transactions can go Electronic, let Delloite or forthright Japanese or any sound foreign companies make use of our phones for voting phone using apps or USSD, this will curb inflation of voters by some people who do it and the unease of queuing and agbero wahala experienced during voting,if FIRS want to debit or deduct Tax ,they know how they go about it.
Don't mind them all this is just a distraction. They know the solution is credible election, especially through collation,e collation and e voting will help.
But this present NASS is a mess they can't achieve anything at least Nigerians are now have their rubber stamp national Assembly hope they are now happy

So that when election is very close, they will start harassing and blackmailing the president with it.

Lol.. Good one.. No one wants to relate to a Waec president again..

Imagine the shame even the senators are facing outside the country..

Imagine listing all your academic qualifications and then you heard from one corner "but you have a president with an O'Level", lol u go just shut up for some while and think about it..

Never again would body language win election in this country.
Some of the greatest presidents in US history did not set foot in an institute of higher learning (about10 of them), let alone graduate from one. Often, education was simply not an option for the ten presidents. That said, through hard work and sheer determination every nation can grow. What was the impact of GEJ's PhD in naija?

Re: 2023: Senators, Reps Dump Electoral Act, Partner Csos For New Law In Nov by seunmsg(m): 12:26pm On Aug 24, 2020
The electoral act cannot be used to stop people without first degree from contesting for president. It is a constitutional matter that can only be addressed through an amendment to the constitution.

not necessarily contesting but anything that has to do with partisan politics for five years- that's fair enough. I think its a good idea

Banning non degree holders won't do much. Because these days one can get a degree under six months. So, they should look for other avenues to make sure that those that are contesting for electoral positions are of sound minds.

Because I am tired of illiterates taking us for a ride in this country

Which country offers degree in 6 months?

In a saner country, the NASS legislatures must now be gearing up for impeachment of the president who could not clarify his academic credentials.

Every four years, new Electoral Law tailored to favour some and disfavor some targeted people.

Are they not the one to make it constitutional

even if they make it constitutional, it is still not constitutional.
the legislators are about trampling on some people right.
there is fundamental human rights, which supports the UNIVERSAL ADULT SUFFRAGE, with law some members of the society is about being disenfranchised.
isn't this a kind of constitutional crisis in the making?
Re: 2023: Senators, Reps Dump Electoral Act, Partner Csos For New Law In Nov by OlujobaSamuel: 1:18pm On Aug 24, 2020
Amend the constitution first, how do you insert these changes into the electoral act when some of it are already explicitly spelt out into the constitution?
Also, our constitution should be designed in such a way that there can be partial amendment, so if there is any controversial issue during the course of amendment, the whole process won't be thrashed but the schedule affected only by the controversial issue.

What of immutable electronic voting and stopping the use of incident forms. This is 2020, election results should be ready as soon as the last voter votes.

Its strange to see that after Nigerians consistently abuse Buhari for only having a WAEC certificate, now turnaround to criticize a move that grants their wishes. This should be good news.

What is the level of education as of then?
People like Abraham Lincoln are more of philosophers than academicians. With Thier level of education as of then you can't beat them in any debate or intellectual contest.

They live on learning and unlearning whatever they know. Thier only requirement was read, write and think.

But Today, the level of education is more like certificates ranking. People don't think much on a philosophical level and reading and writing is no more seen as level of intellect.

Buhari rigid way of leadership might earn him some accolades in infrastructure development but when it comes to harmony and intellectual growth as a nation, Buhari has zero performance in that aspect.

Is your level of academics same with them.. Thier environment are full of rational people that's has crossed d "what to eat" level. If you can't adress the audience in the US no body will vote for you.. But here give them food and they don't care to think rationally.

We need to think about people who are Making these choices before talking about the kind of candidate. Since we can't control the echelon of masses that make electoral decision let's control the qualifications for these offices.

Unless worse candidate would appear in future elections.

Lawmakers always making laws that will favour them only.
Decades to come they would settle for PhD as the only criteria for contest public offices

Stop degrading yourself. There are many Nigerians and other Africa countries doing better than the British and Americans acedemically. All we need to do in Nigeria and Africa is to make our environment more conducive for learning. Stop worshipping the whites.
If it's about addressing the audience, Hillary Clinton would have won the last Presidential election in US. Majority of the public debates with Donald Trump, she won Trump with large margin.
Hillary is a known public debater yet she lost
