Ribadu Throws Cheap Shots At Ciroma. by Pharoh: 12:24pm On Feb 18, 2011
Malam Nuhu Ribadu’s Campaign Organization has accused the Northern Political Leaders Forum (NPLF), led by Malam Adamu Ciroma, of insincerity over the issue of a northern consensus candidate.

The organization made the accusation against the backdrop of the decision of the Northern leaders to brush aside the presidential aspiration of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) flag bearer and that of his Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) counterpart, General Muhammadu Buhari.

Although the organization said it recognizes that the Northern elders were actually looking for a northern candidate under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), it said they had all along created the impression that they were looking for someone who would represent the interest of the entire north and not that of a section of it.

With that in mind, the organization wondered why the NPLF would not back another northerner other than Atiku Abubakar if its objective was truly to protect the interest of the north.

The ACN candidate suggested that it seems more likely that the northern elders were actually looking for someone who would protect their private interests rather than that of the north.

It said that the ACN flag bearer, as an anti-corruption crusader, happens to be a credible candidate who has served the nation meritoriously for 25 years. It further pointed out that he proved his mettle as Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) when he was entrusted with the responsibility of dealing with such crimes in the country.

Hmm so many mixed messages. undecided

So Ribadu too is looking for NPLF support. He wants to benefit from ZONING through the backdoor. He thinks he is smart.

Abeg make NPLF adopt am chap chap, so that he can lose the "small" appeal he has presently in the South west.

againstGEJ:

Ribadu is a tribalist

Sadly, that is true:

Goodluck Jonathan [the incumbent] is from a very small ethnic group, Sadly, even if he were the best person for the job, northern Nigeria would never accept it. He is not electable.

Ribadu is beginning to talk like a brainless person like Jonathan.

You would conclude that anyway because you have made up your mind to never be unbiased where Ribadu is concerned. Did everyone miss this or deliberately ignored it :

The ACN candidate suggested that it seems more likely that the northern elders were actually looking for someone who would protect their private interests rather than that of the north.

Clearly any disspasionate Nigerian can see that , with the above, Ribadu is merely saying what we have all being saying to include some very dishonest people on this thread who do not have the personal integrity to refrain from cheap shots when Ribadu now says what they have bored this forum with. Ribadu is not looking for the support of the NPLF. Rather he is calling them out as insincere people only looking for a "business as usual" type leader like Atiku who can protect their selfish interest. If the NPLF is sincere why not back any other Northern candidate? I have made the same statement here myself when I predicted that the likes of Ciroma and other "old school" Northerner will never embrace Buhari or Ribadu because those guys signify the cessation of "business as usual" for them with how they will end the old order of things where top appointments and portfolio were routinely handed over to cronies instead of the most qualified hands available to the detriment of Nigeria's development.

I support good. Not evil. I am not biased.
It pains that 2 full years passed after his administration before GEJ became president

Ciroma was willing to back IBB, Atiku, Gusau or Saraki,
Ribadu is just bored.

So ribadu does not have a problem with the northern consensus candidature of ciroma if they picked an idea or credible candidate like him or buhari right? undecided

Stop indicting Ribadu of wrongdoing when there has been none . You are trying too hard . It is like trying to make an innocent man fit a crime by hook or by crook. He never asked the NPLF to go down the consensus route nor has he said he approves of what they did . He is merely wondering why they can't support any other candidate apart from those of the "business as usual" variety. Many of us , including some who now talk insincerely on this thread , have said the same thing in the past on this forum.

All over the place , various ethnocentric groups are endorsing various candidates . The NPLF exist already . Why should Ribadu not wonder why a Pro-North group consider some Northern candidates as persona non grata ? Wether you know it or not , Ribadu is actually exposing Ciroma and his ilk for the insincere exploiters of the North that they are . Nothing else. Dude, get more objective .

Someone should organise a love fest between Ribadu and Ciroma. The poor thing sounds really jealous of Atiku' s concensus status. LOL!
