A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Chisom Promise Dike, has asked Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, to keep his car gift and repair the long abandoned roads in his constituency.

Governor Wike had presented a gift of SUV Jeeps to all members of the National Assembly from the state.

But Chisom Dike declined the offer, citing the poor state of the roads in his constituency which have became an eyesore.

The Rep member, who is from Oyigbo Local Government, said roads in the area are in decrepit state and asked for government intervention to rehabilitate the roads.

He appealed to the governor to look into his plea and construct Oyigbo roads.

Speaking after the occasion, Mr Mayor Ubani, an indigene of the affected LGA commended the Rep member:
“I appreciate and
commend this gesture as words are few to extend my humble thanks to him for speaking up for us.

“The Governor has abandoned and forsaken the Oyigbo People and have just prioritize the development of his LGA and it’s environ as Paramount”.

Ikwerre people agitated for Rivers state to be created for them. They see Igbos of Oyigbo as threats who might take the state from them. Where oil is found doesn't matter in Nigeria. It is who controls it.

This isn't the best way to pass a plea to your governor of same party. Take the gift with appreciation. Then like Oliver Twist ask for more. Dont shine more than your master.

Wike bribed Judges in Rivers so that they will always pervert justice in his favor

He bribed State Law makers so that there won't be any constraint when he want to have his way in the house, even though his intentions of giving all these bribes are glaring no one wants to talk about it.

A Governor who owes pensioneers in his State is wasting State resources on souvenirs for selfish reasons.

Hypocrisy has really blurred our sense of reasoning in this Country, even youths that are suppose to clamour for a better Nigeria are the Masters of partisanship.

Of what significant is it for a Governor to gift cars to lawmakers who earn more than Civil servants while he has refused to pay aged retirees who served the State diligently even though they were paid peanuts.

Okilo's , Diete Spiff's, Odili's (just to mention but three) projects are mostly sited in Ikwerre land. Are these governors Ikwerre people? Even Amaechi sited most of his projects in PH LGA while he is from Ikwerre LGA. Your likes should stop this narratives. It is not helping.

You lie.amechi and odili spread or decentralized their projects compared to wike.over 60% of their projects were outside ikwerre land and mostly in the rural areas.go deep into ogoni,ahoada,abolga,opobo,andoni you will see amechi or odili projects.over 80% of wike's projects are in ikwerre land esp ph and obio akpor.

It will be hard. Wike has the covet backing of key power brokers within Amaechi's APC. Amaechi will be fighting both Wike and internal saboteurs. It will wear him out.
