edoairways:Other operators in Nigeria aren't competitive like their counter part in other countries that's why mtn have such large economies of scale. Go and check, MTN profit revenue was the highest in Nigeria particularly in Africa despite the fact their services are poorly covered in Nigeria due to the size of the country according to you, high taxes than others. Are you aware that MTN Ghana was the first to enter a stock exchange market before MTN Nigeria? despite the large economies of scale in Nigeria. |

tomdon:You will noticed that most network charge ₦4 for sms, call rate is also a minimum of ₦6.6, data on monthly basis is around ₦1000 for 1.5gb, sometimes you hear things like the service provider telling you that they are giving you bonus if you subscribed to this package or that, but take note that the charge won't be less than the above. NCC set the floor pricing to protect against unfair competition. 2 Likes |

onyechez post=:MTN can afford to give unlimited calls and data but her competitors can't.Other operators in Nigeria aren't competitive like their counter part in other countries that's why mtn have such large economies of scaleThose service providers are competitive however they limited by small resources. Thanks to glo, MTN was forced to reduce it's data price. MTN for example gets it's support from South Africa whereas Airtel doesn't. As result of such support, they were able to cover many towns and cities. MTN has the largest base stations in Nigeria hence the slight improvement in their service delivery whereas other operators don't. A customer would prefer to opt in for good service delivery at an affordable price than those with poor services. The stiff competition from Airtel forced MTN to introduce bing data plan ( 1g for N300).Go and check, MTN profit revenue was the highest in Nigeria particularly in Africa despite the fact their services are poorly covered in Nigeria due to the size of the country according to you, high taxes than others.Like I said earlier on, MTN Nigeria had the highest revenue because of their subscriber base. It is easier to get huge revenue when your customers are more than their competitors. Are you aware that MTN Ghana was the first to enter a stock exchange market before MTN Nigeria? despite the large economies of scale in Nigeria.MTN Ghana and Nigeria got listed at the stock market because of pressure from different stakeholders. |
