They should protest by reducing the cost of governance especially their ridiculous allowances. Then we will take them seriously

That is the real koko of the matter. Senators that see nothing wrong in spending N39bln on renovating NASS building - already one of the most magnificent structures in Nigeria. Senators see nothing wrong in what is going on with their colleagues in NDDC! Senators see nothing wrong with corruption in their ranks and in the country at large. Senators see nothing wrong with insecurity in the land!

But they shout and wail at DSTV increase and petrol and electricity price increase, so that they can look good for the gram!!

And Nigerians think the Senators really care about them? It's just for show to be seen to be doing something.

While it may be painful for this generation, The government has done the right thing for the future of this country. Not sure that many people realize that the country is virtually broke! And we got to this point in part by stupid subsidies over the years. What we have spent on subsidy in 40years by now will be close to $50bln!!!

This is not the time to increase fuel price in our darling nation at all.

Not with all that is going on around the world, pandemic et al,
When people are finding it difficult to survive.

This is the same reason we voted out the party of thieves and criminals.

This is not the change we voted for.

The same way we sane, honest and hardworking Nigerians praised this government when they reduced fuel price sometimes ago, we should make sure we put our voice together to castigate and talk against this.

That is the voice the government will listen to,
Not the voice of children of hate, frustration and perdition that have never seen any good thing in our country,
That all they do is to wail continously in life.
They even wailed when the price was reduced.
They have been wailing since PMB won the election, even before swearing in!
They are not wailing for the common man like (Omotola) and all other sane and honest people are doing, but they are wailing in pain that the corrupt money being shared to them by the losers they support is not forthcoming anymore.
They have been so used to corruption, they see it as a way of life.
That is what we stand against.

Sane, honest and hardworking Nigerians,
Let us come together to Say no to this fuel increase,
We need no increament at this time and please ignore enemies of the country that want the evil politicians they voted for to remain in power together.

This is not the change we voted for.
Something must be done about this NOW!
God bless Nigeria.

If you are a genuine Nigerian against this increase like us,
Signify and let us take it from here,
We have the Voice and the Power as citizens.
And if you are an enemy of the nation,
aka, children of hate and perdition, aka swines, and dare quote this post to wail,
May the suffering of the masses go to your heads and the heads of your looters you support a 100 folds.
May you be strike down with the hatred for our country that has consumed you from day one.

. Good morning, you just wailed but rather for you to wail and see to the change we all glamoured for, you ended up with hate speech against those you accused of wailing from 2015. It's better we move Nigeria forward without casting aspersion on people while doing it. A bag of rice I saw in a supermarket for 23000 last week is now 27000 in the same supermarket yesterday. Sir, Nigerians are suffering, 40000 could not afford me basic food ingredients yesterday. The masses are now caged that ppl can't protect without harassment and intimidation, thank you.

These are parts of surprises Buhari promised to show us na.
APC has no conscience
Hiking oil price from N97 to 151 in less than six years, this too ridiculous
But internationally, the oil prices has drop down but in Nigeria is a different case.
Wicked rulers. God will judge. The implications to this is that prices of goods will automatically inflated again
Re: Senators Protest Fuel, Electricity Hikes by Nobody: 9:36am On Sep 04, 2020
Fuel is not the main problem.

That's the lesser evil. N97 to N162.

Garri custard bucket rose from N300 to N800 permanently for my side.

Rice custard bucket rose from N800 to N2,500.

N2,500. That is really crazy. 3 X over.

Feeding is wasting all the money Nigerians can save for a rainy day.

Good a thing they are protesting such a harsh economic policy. I urge them to put an icing on this cake of protest by reducing their gargantuan allowances and ask the government to channel the saving there from into providing critical infrastructure for the citizens of the nation.
. You guys tried so much to portray the Senate as the only one receiving jumbo pay, I'm in FCT and from who has an appointment in the Executive; I got to know that basic salary is nothing compared to allowances they receive ok. Those that are suffering are civil servants but MDGs, Ministers, Executive appointees etc are not suffering ok. Do you know that the Executive is the number 1 in the 3 arms of the government and it's the Executive that will give to the Legislature and judiciary?

Millions of Nigerians have sank into poverty since this pandemic, and millions more are on the verge of starvation if nothing is done, yet instead of these evil men in government to put in place policies that will ameliorate the sufferings of the masses, they deliberately choose to make it far worse.

Buhari is the worse thing that ever happened to Nigerians. I wouldn't say I warned them because it's already too late. Everyone is now suffering it.
I doubt if there is any business that is breaking even in Nigeria today. Hundreds of thousands of people are being sacked because businesses are no longer profitable.

You sound like a failure from your words. Even if you have a Car, House or whatever is like your circumstances define you at all point and you are nothing at all juncture.

Nothing is proportionate here. The price of crude oil was around $60-75 since last year till February this year that it started going down. Now at $42 , government is already hiking petrol ?? I guess u don't have much knowledge in this that field.

The governor is talking rubbish just to justify his master.

We will survive, but if you get to live so much with goats in huts, you will start accepting goat huts as a very good place.

If you think that you are ok now, indirectly it will dawn on you that there are friends, relatives and many people suffering in this country.....Which shouldn't ordinarily be. Don't think that they are not hard working........cos that will be you thinking that you are what you are, as a result of Ur personal efforts.

When subsidy was removed by GEJ, people cried, PMB and opposition wailed. Some people still believe that there is no subsidy in the current government..

I believe subsidy should go, but now is not the right time.

Learn to understand sufferings will always happen and it's not because of this government it's happening. And lots of people have less to nothing doing. It's not about hardwork anymore but smartwork and better policies to improve the masses and by many indications this government is the best since Democracy.

All I know is if you have problem with the price hike, you should also complain when it's going low or stop acting like an someone who just wishes for heaven on Earth.

Bastard and useless bunch of senators that can't control their house and do what is expected of them by cutting their huge allowances and salaries.

Now the same bunch of thieves want to sabotage the government we so much love. If those Senators failed to complain when the price of petrol was regulated downwards but can complain today and even expect the Executive to relay latest development so they can politicize the matter at hand it shows they ar just playing to the gallery.

Let the sector or regulatory body set the price as we are used to and let this bunch of useless Senators get back to their duties. We cannot be taking everything to them for their consideration because no same society works that way. Why do we have these regulatory bodies and not allow them do their Work

Bastard Senators that will be telling a private business how to charge for their services and in return create an environment that's not investment friendly.

Make and propose laws that are people oriented and builds the structure of the Society and stop sabotaging all efforts to revive the economy by this Government with and scare investors

if you earn #500000 per month remember someone else earn #30000 per month. It wasn't his or her making that is what he/her employer can pay.. I will challenge you, with this increase how many companies in Lagos will put #10000 on the salary of each worker in order to Cushing that effect of the fuel increase?

It's not just about what people make, but understanding the nature of economics, economies of scale, global trade, population, capital flows, productivity, technology, exchange rate dynamics, efficiency among others, that all have an impact in how a nation grows and develops.

Everything is not just about govt should provide this or that. The world economy is too interconnected now for any government to ignore the global economy and its place in it.
