A report by the Nigeria’s Debt Management Office has revealed how the country borrowed a staggering sum of N18.89tn in the last five years under President Mohammadu Buhari.

The country’s debt management establishment while unveiling the report on Wednesday in Abuja, announced that the borrowings has made the public debt to hit a total of N31.01tn at the end of June.

This means that in the last five years under the President Muhammadu Buhari, the country’s debt rose by N18.89tn.

The Punch reports that as at the end of June 2015, one month after the present regime came into power, the country’s debt profile stood at N12.12tn.

This means that within a period of five years, the nation’s debt profile rose by N18.89tn.
