It's a chick. How it got away from it's mother's nest, is a mystery. Guess u should look around. Until u find it's mama, u have been promoted d way nysc doctors were promoted

I know the bird very well but i don't know the English name sha it is called nduru ukpal.feed the bird with earthworm, ants or skin of fresh ripped Palm camel

Bro, this bird is from the Canary family.
They eat insects(small grasshoppers, dragonfly(minus the head), small spiders(those ones that live on the ground, under stones)etc.

The bird is still young, and is not yet ready to fledge. So for now, feed it only insects until the leg and wings are strong enough to start hopping and flying.


Wen it starts walking Nd flying, u can now change it's diet to a seed based diet(millet) u can also feed it grasshoppers occasionally.




I have reared three babies B4 bt nt this type.
Bt dey are all in the same family.

From the post it’s clear to see the illiteracy in our nation , religion have made people insensitive to innocent creatures around them. Plus every damn thing is a joke. Perhaps we deserve the rulers we get.

You are not even afraid of contracting flu from the bird? It's a chick learning to fly. The mother should still be looking for it as it is except if it has issues and nature has designed such to be eliminated to keep the population of the next generation healthy.

This is a fledgling... The name is weaver bird... It was supposed to stl be fed by d parents

Its a baby bird.Buy anything like guinea corn or groundnuts to feed it. You will have to be forcing it down its throat for now as its not old enough to eat by itself yet. Keep it in a carton or someplace warm and try not to handle it except during feeding. The bird is quite aggressive though for a per, I advice you let it go when its old enough to survive on its own.

If you do not release the bird back in the bush, it will die in ur hands after a day or two. You cannot handle it. It's very difficult to handle those newly born birds. It will die out of starvation. It will refuse to either eat or drink. The bird will be suffer separation anxiety which will make it cry from morning till night. It will get exhausted, hungry and thirsty and die.

That's a 'Weaver nestling'. Those birds that weave their nests suspending on tree branches, that's their young one.



You can wean the nestling with insects(termites), when it's old enough to fly, set it free.

we call it asha in Igbo. just buy starter feed used for chicken, grind it very well and moisten it with water easy congestion. Feed the bird with tiny bits at a time. it chokes easily, so be careful.
