The death of Prof. Kimse Okoko coming a few months after his son’s demise has been described as double jeopardy. It was gathered that Okoko, at about 4:15pm on Sunday the 13th took his last breath in an undisclosed hospital in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He was aged 80. Okoko, who was until his death a Pro-Chancellor of some universities, battled a prolonged sickness, but could no longer cope with his health challenges after the demise of his son, Keniebi Okoko. The Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) Worldwide have been thrown into mourning following the announcement of the death of a two-time President of its parent body, Ijaw National Congress (INC), Prof. Kimse Okoko. The IYC in a statement signed by its President, Peter Igbifa said that the IYC received the death of Okoko with rude shock describing him as a scholar, leader, father, and patriot.
