APC To PDP: No Amount Of Imported Thugs From Delta, Rivers Will Intimidate Edo by bolaayenimo: 7:16pm On Sep 17, 2020
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday said Edo voters will not be intimidated from exercising their civic responsibility on Saturday, irrespective of the thugs allegedly imported into the state by leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Yekini Nabena, the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary in a chat with Daily Independent, also said there is no crisis in their party as claimed by the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan.

He urged the PDP to focus on their strategy of winning the election while the APC also do likewise, saying the results will be apparent at the end of the election.

“As far as I am concerned, there is no problem in our party. Everybody has their strategy. Let the PDP focus on their strategy while we also focus on ours. We will all see the result by Saturday evening or Sunday”.

“Like we keep telling the people of Edo, they should all troop out and vote, no matter the intimidation from the thugs and militants imported into Edo state from the neighbourhood states like Delta and Rivers”.

“The governors of Rivers and Delta including PDP chairman, Secondus are behind all these . But we are telling the people not to be intimidated. They must come out and vote on Saturday”.

While commending the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) for providing adequate security for the election, APC also appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to desist from being used by politicians in the state.

“We are also thanking the IGP on the security aspects that he promised the people. On the part of INEC, for a free and fair election, everybody must be involved”.

“When people go to INEC office, they collect voting materials and these materials are taken to the wards; from the wards to the units, then you will know there is an election. Once the materials are not in the wards, then they cancel the wards or units to prevent people from hijacking materials from the units”.

“INEC should allow the materials goo to the units where there are INEC officers. If INEC puts its acts together, then politicians will comply.

“An election cannot be peaceful when people are denied the right to vote. INEC must also not allow itself to be used by taking INEC staff and election materials to Government House” he said.
