I am not surprised.

i like this man for RESIGNING. PMB appointed a NORTHERNER to head the panel as usual. very NEPOTIC!

PMB can never CHANGE. Why did they appoint HIM AS PRESIDENT for all of GOODNESS sakes

Dont mind them , this is how they VOTED for buhari. they did not know BUHARI is even WORSER.

kayjay69:
As usual in typical Nigerian fashion, bunch of stupid individuals have come here to celebrate the removal of Babalakin, even though he was suspended and opted to resign.

Very few took the time to read his letter and to find out if he was on point, in typical Nigerian knee-jerk reaction fashion.

Some have even gone as far as to defend the removed VC labelling him as a child of God.

Rather than find out if the VC was guilty as accused, Rather than find out if Babalakin and the other committee members followed due process, as usual we have chosen to take sides in typical zombie fashion without even knowing the truth of the matter.

We forget that the real victim in all of this happens to be that institution of learning and by extension our education system. A very sad day for the entirety of Nigerians, a very sad day.

he wanted to actualize his own plans and vision for unilag and saw the former VC as a hindrance and an unworthy person for the post of VC

Macsjebs:

Wow shocked
But why all the drama then?

Good self-riddance. I hope he will relinquish his role as the head of the FG negotiating team with ASUU. This man is the major reason for FG-ASUU feuding all the time. Over Sabi wan kill am. It is only the position he espouses that is right and MUST be followed. Yeye nonsense

He has resigned from that negotiation team.

So his headache was inclusion of VC's of state universities in panel? His sense of judgement was flawed and biased. No wonder Unilag always frustrated postgraduate candidates from other unis, especially state-owned unis.

Good riddance to bad "lubish".

For Babalakin, it's good riddance to bad rubbish. He removed the Vice Chancellor without due process, as if Unilag is his personal property.

Babalakin's resignation will be the beginning of peace in the Institution

People playing God.
You removed someone from office because you have a "higher" authority, the person protested and deemed your actions "illegal", in return you insisted it was the right thing to do.

Someone who has a "higher" authority than you now removed you, and you're blabbing about "appropriateness and legality"

Do unto others as you would like them do unto you.

He was told to step aside pending the outcome of investigation into the crisis, in which he could be reassigned his portfolio or sacked for not following due process in removing the Vice-Chancellor.

He has sensed that the findings may not favor him that is why he has to resign honorably than being sacked.

I agree to your last statement. I would have done the same in the same circumstances . A good name is better than riches . Defend it with your life. When people gang up with a plan to tarnish your name, it’s better to Defend your name and leave them To their folly.

What did you expect BUBU to do .....when two of you called AFONJA fighting each other in the name of ego and power. He has to send Hausa Fulani to come and settle the matter. This is what that can never happen in NORTH no matter what it is... Have you ever heard or hear Pro-Chancellor remove VC of university in the NORTH. Southern are the problem of themselves. That's why we have some State in Southern part that don t participate in election Year because of our OVER-SABI

The problem in Akoka is multi faceted.

Babalakin has no personal issue per say with VC, his major issue is Senate and Assu. Unfortunately, Ogundipe is representing ASUU and Senate.. reason why he has to be at the receiving end. Most of those charges against him are trumped up. Not to say that for sure, he is innocent.

But Pro-Chancellor has never believed in him from Day 1. He is crying fowl after throwing himself up and down like a white fowl that can never be hunted.

This man and Azeez oladejo have issues with University of Lagos, where Ogundipe is heading and not Ogundipe directly.

How can you be so sure of the above? Are u saying Ogundipe is not corrupt and never spent all those money he alleged spend?.. Babalakin is high handed.. Agreed! But Ogundipe sef get in wọn for body.. Those vc in the panel will just try to save face, so that it won't be their turn tommorow!

most people especially on the first page only comment base on what they are thinking and not base on what's on ground.

From my post, I didn't say Ogundipe was guilty or not. But, those charges against him by Babalakin was over exaggerated.

Babalakin's problem with Unilag would have continued with or without Ogundipe. He is just after Ogundipe (head) to prove superiority to the Senate.

No one said Ogundipe is a saint.
