He is simply asking for former council chairmen and members to be included in thee panel too, they would have a better understanding of what's going on. Since former v.cs whr included too
Judolisco:
Babalakin wants the ministry of education to bring in people from foreign universities to investigate and not small prof from futminna and other small state universities... Wonderful cheesy

See who has a sound sense of judgement!

quote author=KingAzari post=94048130]So his headache was inclusion of VC's of state universities in panel? His sense of judgement was flawed and biased. No wonder Unilag always frustrated postgraduate candidates from other unis, especially state-owned unis.

Good riddance to bad "lubish".[/quote]

People playing God.
You removed someone from office because you have a "higher" authority, the person protested and deemed your actions "illegal", in return you insisted it was the right thing to do.

Someone who has a "higher" authority than you now removed you, and you're blabbing about "appropriateness and legality"

Golden rule:
Do unto others as you would like them do unto you.

Ignorance!

Mr. Babalakin abeg spare us your rubbish! You removed a VC by fiat and now want to cry like a baby. You shouldn't just resign, you should be sacked for such wicked use and abuse of position and power.

He didn't state any serious reason. Perhaps, the report has some things against him.

I said a former council member from another university. Same way they picked a former v.c crime another university. Do you understand the workings of a university system in Nigeria

Having read through, the summary and analogy go as below:

1.
Dr.B.O. Babalakin, favored during Obasanjo. Won the bid for old federal secretariat, Ikoyi. One man! Who gigantic structure!

2.
Same Dr. B.O. Babalakin, won concession for traffic flow, around Muritala Int'l Airport, Ikeja.

3.
He should smell POLITICS in the whole game!

4.
He's EAGER TO NAIL PROF. OGUNDIPE. Got him removed.
The visitation team, still regards Ogundipe.

5.
Don't be eager to destroy another man's career, when yours is not certain yet.

6.
His wahala is like GADAFFI, tried destroyed BENGHAZI rebels.
Yet, the Western powers, STOPPED HIM.

7.
Babalakin, save your life first before going for Professor Ogundipe's neck!

8.
Dr. B.O. Babalakin also drew wrath, calling reps from other federal universities- 'SMALLER UNIVERSITIES'
All federal unis are the same thing. Ode!

Unfortunately the man has a point. A semblance of fairness could have been achieved with a committee made up of equal number of former pro-chancellors and VCs, say three each, headed by a former SGF/HOS.
Seems Gambari's not so smart afterall

my issue with him is calling profs small because they were invited from a so called smaller university

Are you his brother? All you kids who come online with zero emotional intelligence, and all you know is to cross out opinions, and have zilch capacity to debate a topic.

Please take your lines elsewhere!

Common sense is indeed not common.
For your mind, everyone online is a kid.
You lack home training.

As usual in typical Nigerian fashion, bunch of stupid individuals have come here to celebrate the removal of Babalakin, even though he was suspended and opted to resign.

Very few took the time to read his letter and to find out if he was on point, in typical Nigerian knee-jerk reaction fashion.

Some have even gone as far as to defend the removed VC labelling him as a child of God.

Rather than find out if the VC was guilty as accused, Rather than find out if Babalakin and the other committee members followed due process, as usual we have chosen to take sides in typical zombie fashion without even knowing the truth of the matter.

We forget that the real victim in all of this happens to be that institution of learning and by extension our education system. A very sad day for the entirety of Nigerians, a very sad day.

You can write all you want but the truth is that the VC, however horrible he was according to you, was removed without due process. I followed this thing from the beginning.

Babalakin shouldn't run ahead of his shadow. If he was innocent as you espouse, he would have waited for the investigation to end, after which he would have been re-installed. The man obviously saw the findings were not favouring him and resigned before being sacked.

A billionaire who has executed government contracts right from OBJ's time would hardly be a saint. Stop pontificating for him except, of course, there is something you are not telling us.
