WRESTLING AS SPORTING EVENT IS DEAD BUT I WILL REVIVE IT, NEW NPWF PRESIDENT CHIEF JOHN UCHE BOOST ON TV PROGRAMME

The new Nigeria Professional Wrestling Federation NPWF, Chief John Uche popularly known as Akpati has boosted on how he plans to revive wrestling as a sporting event in Nigeria and make it more viable in less than one year.

Chief John Uche made this revelation while answering questions on TBE sports television programme on Friday night. The new NPWF President said " many people have lost interest in wrestling as a sporting event in Nigeria. Some say it is dead. The whole focus is on soccer but I tell you I will revive wrestling in less than one year in office. I have a strong team on ground who are already working with me on this. We are going to hold major wrestling competition in all the geo political zones in Nigeria soon. Again, once schools resume, we are going to start school competitions at all levels to discover and promote new talents".

It could be recalled that the new NPWF President's emergence had sparked on hope and positive reactions from Wrestlers, Sportsmen and women including Sports Analysts around the world. Going by his past records, every wrestling fan is hopeful that Nigeria Professional Wrestling Federation NPWF will soon compete with soccer like in the 1980s and 1990s.

With this new development, the whole world, Nigerians and wrestling fans are expecting the federal government, philanthropists, corporate organizations and sports lovers to support in funding the new NPWF under Chief John Uche (Akpati) in order to realise it set goals.
